Youāre exactly right. Hamill has been critical of the movieās direction of Luke all the way up through the release. Heās been fairly supportive of the decisions made but hasnāt really recanted anything heās put out.

Sure, but letās not pretend like that accounts for all of the overwhelming amounts of negative reviews. You canāt just blame everything on trolls, thereās a crazy amount of people who disliked this movie.
Who gives a shit what Hamill thinks? Heās just an actor. And to be honest, Luke has always kinda been a bit of a pussy. This version in TLJ is the best Luke out of all the movies.

Snoke being a useless character, huge build up from TFA, to his reveal hereā¦ And heās nothing more than a Dooku jobber. Whole Casino subplot was stupid. āHey we canāt get that master scrambler! No worries, there is another one in prisonā¦ And he just escaped cause we showed up.ā The whole āchaseā sequence, the majority of the movie is just a chase scene, with subplots based around it. Why doesnāt Holdo tell Po there is a fucken rebel base nearby? He wouldnāt listen? Cause he sure fucken does when she mentions it. Why is Rey such a fucken master with the force and the lightsaber? Luke didnāt teach her shit. That stupid mirror sequence āYour parents areā¦ YOUā. I know some people donāt want Reyās lineage to have importance cause itās overdone, but now she is basically Anakin, I know most of us wanted to have her parents have some importance, hope this changes in Ep 9, I bet sheās Kyloās half sister or something dumb. Then you got Luke being treated like a pissy psycho who wanted to kill his nephew. Literally gave him dementia in this movie. Just terrible. Then his deathā¦ āOh hey I bought some time for the rebelsā¦ Seems like its time to die, Iāve done enough.ā Leia fucken floating back to the ship lol No character development for anyone but Rey. If this is the transition movie, the only thing that transitioned from TFA to Ep 9 is that there are a lot less rebels and Kylo is the boss now.
But here I am still hoping that Ep 9 with tie loose ends and actually have a good movie. Iām sure Iāll be disappointed. [/details]

Fable 2- which I often love to bring up just to shit onā¦ you get to the endā¦ Lucien makes the usual āmain bad guy speechāā¦but if you wait too long then Reaver just shoots himā¦and just like thatā¦from a single gunshotā¦the MAIN VILLAIN of a goddamn fantasy RPG is dead. (*the alternative is that you can just run up and slash, shoot, or āmagic attackā him one time, and he dies that way) It still stands out as THE dumbest pile of horseshit Iāve ever seen in all my years of gaming. Itās irritating just remembering that trash.
At the very least, I wouldāve expected Snoke to āmagicallyā pull himself back together via Force power, since yāknowā¦itās basically magic shit. Orāfor a better shock value momentā¦ you have him just pop up outta nowhere on Kylo laterā¦we see that he either pulled himself together, or he has simply taken a new bodyā¦he could then continue the gloating and have that ultimate ā***TOLD YA SO. You thought I didnāt see that shit cominā? Foolish insectā¦***ā supervillain moment. This could still be āfixedā if that actually happens in the next film, but Iām doubting it will go that way. Like the aforementioned examples, this is another villain that just got shitted on big timeā¦and that never really sits right with me. Villains are usually the most interesting characters in any work of fictionā¦and they should not be made out to be a joke unless the whole thing really is some goofball comedy. Iām ok with just about everything else, but the issue with what happened to that particular character is pitiful, and only gets more annoying the more I think about itā¦here or in any other show, movie or game.

as for GOOD things in the movie i will say:
it looked awesome.
kylo ren was good as well as the dynamic between him and Rey or Ray (not sure which is correct)
saying āfuck the pastā as the theme of the movie was fine. obviously i didnāt like the execution but i do like the idea in theory.
i hope the next movie just focuses on kylo and rey
I havenāt seen the movie but Iāve read and seen many spoilers. Iāve seen that scene three times. That was outright a letdown. Especially since I like the villains a lot more than the heroes in Star Wars. That honestly out of everything was the worst to me.
