In this movie, the Women reel in all the men because theyâre always wrong or fucking up
[details=Spoiler]
Rey wins the argument against Luke, and Kylo only kills Snoke with her influence/presence
Purple haired chick is condescending to retarded wreckless flyboy Poe. And the movie is made for us to accept this purple haired broad as both wise and heroic. But refer to my last post on how her stupidity causes nearly everyone to die
Finn is totally useless and needs Rose to lead him
and who saves the day?
Rey saves the 20 remaining people of the Resistance
Rose saves Finn[/details]
I guess we have Phasma as the one evil woman in the movie. But who cares, sheâs a jobber like Snoke.
in sjw movies, characters without male-cis-het identities are not allowed to have character development. they just get their functional role and arenât allowed to stray from it. no moral ambiguity, no surprises. it really shows you that sjw film makers just see certain minorities as tools.
Whether or not you agree there was a message of Women > Men on this movieâwhich to me is a minor detailâthe problems of the movie lie in the script and the horrific contrived plot, and how long and boring it is. Useless side stories, silly political undertones of animal cruelty and rich people, and the entire movie should have been over by the 15 minute mark in favor of the First Order or at about the 2 hour mark (ZzZzzz) for the Resistance.
Even as someone who spent 3 years as a vegan(which i still largely agree with except for some details), i thought the animal rights message was really stupid.
that isnt what this is about at all. nobody cares if women and minorities take lead roles.
the issue is that if its done in a sjw style, it lacks authenticity. hell, the first thing i complained about with this movie, in this very thread was mark hamill, who is a straight white male. obviously the issue isnt identity, bit rather the execution and the script.
there are many movies and various other forms of entertainment that Iâm into that have minorities and women in the main roles, but theyâre more from the heart
the issue isnt the identity, but rather the nature of the script and how the identity is used as a tool in the movie.
People do care if they are under represented in an industry where the demographic for engagement says otherwise.
I do have to agree and say that Kathleen Kennedy is pushing the female lead approach a little strong. At the end of the day we are watching a movie about Space wizards. Their genetic identity doesnât have much to do with the advancement of the plot.
thereâs a fine line to walk on, i do believe that society should be more open to underrepresented people but, if i feel like the motive comes from an inauthentic place (for example, sjws who are almost all dishonest and simply see minorities as an interesting novelty used for social status) then it just ruins the product.
its just a form.of bad script writing, bad acting etc. thats the issue.
Pertho was right. WTF is going on in this thread. People canât talk about anything these days without bringing in an agenda. Just say why you like or dislike the movie.
