Rey and Finn’s family names weren’t revealed for a reason. Rey Solo is a no-brainer. Finn… Calrissian? Windu? The final black guy in the Star Wars universe who protected Amidala in Episode 1?

I think what amuses me most of the OT is how the evil democratically elected emperor who had an entire lifetime worth of political experience had to be overthrown by the pure and good teenage girl princess by birthright who hasn’t achieved anything on her own. But somehow that was “Democracy” and Sidious’ Empire was evil.
That still amuses me to this day. The PT was full of retconning Leia’s royalty to somehow claim it was a Democracy.
As ridiculous as I think US politics is, at least they don’t openly try to pull that crap.

I dunno, I think a lot of systems approved the Empire. In a galaxy populated by scum an organised force is the best deal for honest people. I mean look at Tatooine… a desert planet with nothing to offer where the Hutts can do whatever they want to whoever they want. Shit, wasn’t Luke headed to join the Imperial Academy? Wasn’t Solo an Imperial before he decided there’s more money in smuggling?

The means Sidious went through to get everyone on his side wasn’t the cleanest, but he didn’t just take overl ike the new republic order did.

There are some changes in the OT that I do like (Death Star scene in ANH, the Cloud City Entrance in ESB, and closing scene in ROTJ), but that’s pretty much it. ESB is my most hated for the changes (Jedi Rocks in ROTJ doesn’t bother me as much as it does others). The Wampa was totally unnecessary and the shuttle sequence was just stupid. “Bring my shuttle” was a much more appropriate line for Vader. I just wonder if part of the sale of Lucasfilm had some sort of clause where the OT couldn’t be sold in it’s original form. If they just release a remastered version (clean up of matte lines, fix compositing of objects, etc), It’ll be the only movie that I ever will pre-order.
Yet the Realest Jedi’s still lived. All it did was get rid of the filler trash.
