Star Wars

Clone Wars first since Saw Gerrera made his debut there, specifically in season 5.

Since the discussion mentioned the SE editions the other day, I found these more comprehensive videos on the changes between the Original and the SE (2004 and 2011). Empire had a few surprises that I honestly did not pick up on.

terrible excuse for a star wars movie. don’t even care about any of the characters. the whole movie is pointless, fruitless, Episode IV is fine without it.

but of course it sells, because like almost any fanbase, the mindless masses jump in because of the brand.

[details=Spoiler]
and a Star Wars movie without a lightsaber duel? [/details]

might well call it some generic sci fi shooter movie instead of slapping Star Wars on it.

just as they pulled noname rebels out the ass for the plot, they could have easily created a young lightsaber wielding Jedi that wasn’t at Coruscant during the time of the Jedi massacre, and a Jedi that Vader had yet to kill until that movie.

[details=Spoiler]a “Force believer”[/details] is so useless,
makes the Stormtroopers look more of a joke like a gag character would make them look (like the Ewoks and Jar Jar that you critics hate so much)
and not the kind of fanservice Star Wars fans crave

give us an unknown never seen before Jedi eventually dueling with Vader, not some “adoring fan” that can’t even see.

Such a lazy grunt crazy sci movie that is so hollow and generic. it would have been fine as a movie that isn’t Star Wars. Rogue One really drops the Star Wars story standards.

And it is an overwhelming shame that the Star Wars mainstream will overhype that nonsense, while belittling, ostracizing and underrating the prequel trilogy. insane, really.

and you can see the insanity of the mainstream pack mentality fanbase, when they glorify Rogue One, ignoring its flaws, and twisting perspective behind a veil of delusional praise just because Disney is backing it and it’s not PT

Meanwhile,

the prequel trilogy is ostracized because Disney says so, and the conservative Old Trilogy purists say so.

But ohhhh, the OT purists make Rogue One an exception because you know, Disney,** proving those old school fans to be hypocrites and traitors to the tradition they so fanatically defend. **

Rogue One story is just another stereotypical military engine, decorated with a Star Wars shell.

Spoiler

the seconds of Vader massacring Rebels[/details] is not worth spending any money and time with the rest of that filth of a movie. that Rogue One story was better untold since that same story was generally told before, and in better ways.

and on top of that, Rogue One is demoralizing and leaves a bad taste, it’s too sad to be a Star Wars movie, it is the complete opposite of the motivational and empowering standards Episode IV established.

but of course a simple mind would just be like #Vaderissocoolbeststarwarsmovieevar :stuck_out_tongue:

I am all for a female lead character, and there’s not enough strong female leads across books, movies, videogames, etc. but not when the story/concept/design is trash and betrays what Star Wars was known for and what fans expected out of it.

and on top of that, Rogue One is very sexist (YES IT IS!!) because the one time they make a Star Wars movie with lead female rebel protagonist

[details=Spoiler]and they kill her off!!! WTF!!!

meanwhile PT Anakin becomes the successful big bad that fans praise, and Luke ends his saga as a successful hero that lives on.

it’s like misogynists in Disney were like

Disney Misogynists/sexists/wifebeates “we misogynists/sexists/wifebeaters are uncomfortable with Rogue One having female lead and find that offensive.”.

Disney bigwigs+producer+director+writer “ok we’ll make her get killed off”

Disney Misogynists/sexists/wifebeaters “we’ll call it even then”

If Episode VII did similiar to what Rogue One did, it would be such an underwhelming, forgettable and lame movie.

Just because it’s a spinoff is no excuse to be so juvenile with its design, like some disc jockey screwing up a Star Wars music track.

so bring on the hate, the shills can defend it all they want.

I’m just going to say I disagree with you. You seem to strongly hate everything about the movie, so I will recognize that it’s pointless to argue with your opinion, which I respect but do not agree with.

Affinity’s opinion is never worth respecting.

PSA: Calling everyone who disagrees with you idiots, shills, mindless masses and simple minds is a great way to have everyone who doesn’t already agree with you ignore any otherwise-valid points you may or may not have.

Of course Rogue One has flaws. It’s got plenty. I actually kinda like, for the sake of reading about it/discussing it online, that it’s a movie where people fall all over the spectrum in how much they like or dislike it. It makes for actual discussion about legitimate flaws, how much they matter to the movie, and people enjoying movies for different reasons. I’ve seen literally every notch on the scale represented, from OMGBESTEVER to, well, Affinity.

I liked Rogue One more than The Force Awakens.

Affinitys opinion on this film is the worst opinion I’ve ever read in my life.

I don’t think I’m a shill because I liked Rogue One. I’m a shill because I liked BvS.

And proud of it!

I love this movie for the fact that it has no lightsaber jedi/sith story. While I like the saga as a whole, it’s nice to enjoy the other parts of the world.

To a degree, it’s why I loved the episodes in clone wars that involved the troopers. You know the WAR part of Star Wars…

Disney’s just released screenshots of all the Rebels cameos.

Only one missing is the one with Hera since her “cameo” was being paged over the intercom.

Just saw it with my friends.

I liked Alan Tudyk/AKA The Droid.

I liked Donnie Yen. And I liked his best friend in the movie. I didn’t mind the mantra. Didn’t bother me.

The two “main characters/leaders” were rather bland. I forgot their names. Thier lines were delivered stiffly/terribly, but they made really good facial expressions, so I’m not sure if it’s the script that made thier characters so bland or they just didn’t fit the part.

I rolled my eyes and closed them when that “inspiring” speech was being made. I know trope and all, but that was a really really really bad speech made from the wrong character.

Vader was giving them niggas that work! That’s worth the admission alone.

So does Mon Monthma’s comments about war being inevitable mark Scarif as the proper start of the Galactic Civil War?

I’ve always thought of it as having been going on for a bit longer than that with the prior rebel actions (including the stuff we see in Rebels) being part of it. But Rogue One seems to hint at a proper delineation of when hostilities escalate into an actual civil war.

is captain kirk in the new star wars movie?

The opening crawl for A New Hope states that it is a period of civil war. It’d be a fair assumption to say that event is what tips things into that state.

haters belittle my opinions anyways, they take the liberty to offend me, they’re hypocrites not being able to take their own medicine.

and I don’t generalize everyone that disagrees as idiots/mindless/etc. just the ones that disagree because they don’t like me due to their blind automatic hate.

See how they troll their heart out?

facedesks through the desk Just…how? Oh well. at least someone honestly enjoyed it.

I didn’t say it’s the worst movie ever, though it’s not up to my Star Wars standards, I’m not the only one that sees it that way.

I find it funny that affinity thinks a movie is misogynistic because the female lead died. They probably had to kill her off in order to balance out the fact that the last female lead in the very last star wars movie was perfect in every way.

or maybe they killed her off so they don’t have to squeeze her into the later cannon

Or maybe they killed her because that’s howthe fucking story was written.

Pretty simple.
