I’d rather the films be impeccable

They’ve never been that, ever. Mainline movies are the weakest part of the franchise.

I’ve gone through 2 of the 5 (completely) in the list. I think The Mandalorian is “good” as it makes the Star Wars galactic element feel lived in. The story itself doesn’t do anything really interesting. That’s not a bad thing, but it plays it safe. This show walks that line for being new and different well enough that you can’t really make any complaints about it.

Fallen Order is probably one of my favorite game stories (second to Republic Commando).

Jedi need to become more of a myth than space knights. When they show up, they need to feel like Vader at the end of Rogue One. I’d be fine if we see a lightsaber sparingly.

I’m at about a 7. It’s basically an episodic compliment sandwich. My wife dropped off on Episode 4 and watched 7 and 8 and didn’t really miss anything.

I’m not a consumerist whore so I’ll just keep arguing about the movies. the rest of it can go kick rocks.

Stay getting hustled, you bunch of nerds.

Mando could’ve cut 2-3 episodes and I would’ve liked it more. Few episodes were boring and badly paced.

For sure. The Sith and Jedi definitely need to be pushed as “less is more”. I think that’s why I like the Sith’s Rule of Two so much.

People had problems with that 4th episode. I actually enjoyed that one. To be honest, out of the 8 eps, you only have to really see Chapters 1, 3, 4, 7, 8.

What about the toys though :joy:

So we’re just gonna pretend like ANH/ESB are just shit? I could understand an argument against ROTJ.

Yeah I feel the same. Some EP’s are fucking great and some felt like watching anime filler. It was weird lol

Edit: If Mando lasts past S2 there’s definitely gonna be a watch guide to the show.

No, he’s saying they aren’t impeccable. Why is the option between perfect and shit with 0 room inbetween?

I look at is as they are the reason (for better of worse) of why Star Wars went from being a exercise in creativity to an exercise in creating a Star Wars.

Eps 5 and 6 are the clear winners of that award.

Definitely. Hopefully they have things planned out. I really don’t think any show should go beyond five seasons with its core arc. If you need to, spin it off into something else.

No one said that, but they weren’t fucking perfect. Thats what’s wrong with your hate cult, stuck on a perpetual nostalgia trip.

The whole prequel trilogy exists and y’all think this is the series’s lowest point? Lol

After rewatching the prequels, I can’t really understand how anyone really thinks so. Just from an acting perspective: How do you make Samuel L. Jackson seem uncharasmatic? Those had the ideas but not only was the dialogue between characters wooden, the interactions just seemed off. Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor somehow made the watch fun.

Its actually one of the reasons George Lucas didn’t make the prequels for a long time. He didn’t think the Jedi would be likeable people because they’re so restrained emotionally for the vast majority of the time.

But we never wanna listen to George when he warns us, now do we? :sob:

Because internet.

Yep without question. The sequel trilogy is an unplanned clusterfuck and it shows.

Even with Ewan Mcgregor I did not like the prequels when I went back to watch the whole series.

Unquestionably the worst of the series in my eyes. I can’t take anyone that thinks the new trilogy is the worst seriously.

Okay, they have flaws. But they’re still considered the best of all 9 movies by pretty much everyone.

How did you get that from my post? Every movie has flaws.

So wanting good Star Wars films is the equivalent of “DUDE I SAW THE FALCON AND CLAPPED”? Just because I want something good doesn’t mean I want to see the same movie over and over again lol

The Star Wars brand isn’t like what it used to be. We live in the Fortnight/Twitch/Social media era. Way more shit to distract kinds and newcomers to the franchise than there used to be. If the mainline movies are ass how is that gonna bode well for the future of franchise? It’s at it’s lowest point because of dumb moves from the top.

Worst part of the prequels is, unquestionably, all of the relationship scenes between Anakin and Whatsherface in The Clone Wars.

Agreed. Star Wars was a cultural phenomenon. It also had the one thing that makes everything better . . . . . TIME.

Think about all the movies that are classics now but we’re critically a WTF moment 30 years earlier.
