Agreed, but lets not kid ourselves

Rogue One is a good 1/2 of a movie with the last 3 minutes containing nostalgia-fuelled awesome.

The Mandalorian is a solid series as a whole, but you can easily remove three episodes and garner the same connection to the character. I also believe that if our main character was Boba Fett, the reaction to it would have been different.

The Animated series basically show that Star Wars can be good if a narrative is allowed to breathe. Season 1 of the Clone Wars pales in comparison to the final three.

I am glad the Mandalorian has zero Bobba Fette so far, he is the original trilogy’s version of Capt Phasma.

Nah, no way. Boba Fett was just some unknown dude in a cool outfit. Captain Phasma was a good actress in a shit ass role.

At worst Boba Fett is the result of the Star Wars aesthetic really clicking with fans. Phasma was an insane failure compared to him.

Phasma was presented with an expectation of her being someone significant and did nothing. Boba Fett was just there and became something more than what we expected.

Darth Maul had similar rise in popularity. He was supposed to be a throw away villain until he clicked with fans.

And that’s the best way to do it. You don’t force a character to be cool, cool characters happen with good writing and no expectations. What you read in the book, watch on screen if done well, draws you into a character. It’s why I like Mando as my new favorite SW character.

Name one actually cool thing Bobba actually did other than back-talk to vader?

until he clicked with fans.

Despite being the biggest jobber in the universe.

SW fans love terrible things. :joy:

He killed the Sarlac from inside and escaped.

That been retcon to never happen.
Also I mean in the flims he appeared in.

The only time Bobba did something cool was in the Christmas Special, which is actually worst than TLJ.

In the films that is, don’t care about The Disneyland BS.

He tracked the Falcon to Cloud City by not falling for the “drift away with the trash” ploy.

That makes him smarter, cooler, and more aware then 90% of Star Wars characters.

Yeah, but it happened somewhere, and it influenced my perception of his badassedness.

Phasma’s chrome look could have been dope, it is just a set piece however because they did nothing with the character besides making her a joke.

Imagine if they would have gave the scene with that one storm trooper with the electrical baton and had it be her instead of random fodder that gets blown away by Han? Or really if they gave her anything good to do including just showing another perspective of life in the first order. Instead she is used as a throw back joke and falls down a hole in the second film with less impact then cameos of stars.

The idea that lasers bounce off her chrome armor is fucking awesome…

And it doesnt happen even once. Wtf!?!?

Phamas was a waste of having a popular and talented actress. The character was a set piece and nothing else. Had they had her menacingly walk towards the rebels as shots just bounce off her Armor, talked up to the rebel in question just to beat them with their own gun would of cemented her as a bad ass.

Analogy to WWE. That’s why Jake The Snake is better than Hulk Hogan. That’s why now Roman Reigns is actually a better character now!!!
