Forum software here is bonkers…
As someone that works for a large corporation. I can’t tell jackass customers they are dicks even when they are because what I say reflects on my place of employment. Just because other people are immature pieces of shit doesn’t give you license to be one too when you are representing a business.
How the flying fuck did this forum software move my new post into my old post and overwrite it…what the fuck?..
Here is my response in the proper place. My previous post seems to be gone…smh.
Cool. You’re talking about something else entirely.
And if we where talking about business representation you would have a point, but we aren’t so I’m not sure why you are addressing me.
Discourse is trash. It does weird shit sometimes
Rian Johnson is representing Disney when acts like a juvenile when dealing with SW trolls. That has been my whole point.
Ok…your whole point is pointless in the face of the discussion. No one was talking about business representation. We where talking about fan reaction and behaivor and how that lead things to where they are now. Rian’s representation of Disney on Twitter was never a topic…
If we where to discuss that then…yea…not a good representative of Disney…but again I don’t care. Disney has a fine enough image, Rian isn’t going to ruin it so yea…dont care.
I think the Star Wars fans have done far more damage with their representation of the community and what Star Wars fans are like then anything Rian could ever possibly do.
So yea…sure. He put a very minor dent in Disney’s image. Big fucking deal. I’m far more bothered by the fans behavior over the last two years then anything Rian has ever done.
Star Wars fans have turned into bullies who say horrible things about people with different views and opinions then them. The things I have been called online and in person for saying I like TLG is some absolute bullshit to say to someone over a fucking movie. I have 0 good will for bullies. They can eat shit far as I am concerned.
Change dot org is a joke.
I’m playing a game so I can’t address this properly but you broached the subject when i said Rian acts like a twelve year old on Twitter. You said everyone does. Which makes his actions seem the same.
Yea but you came at me bringing up Twitter when no one else did. He catches shit on more platforms then just Twitter. You are the one who narrowed the conversation down to a singular platform. I was talking about the fanbase as a whole, twitter, facebook, youtube, real life, the whole thing.
I said everyone acts 12 on Twitter because they do. I never said his behaivor on twitter was better then anyone elses. You can’t have any real back and fourth with 120 character limit and when people go on Twitter they get retarded so going “Yea but Twitter” to anything is really silly imo. They acted like 12 year olds so he met them on their level. Good for business? I dunno, and I don’t really care, Disney has a huge personnel machine dedicared to Disney’s image so they where always going to be fine. Rian Johnson being a child on Twitter wasn’t going to do anything to damage that image for anyone except those who already had it out for him and/or Disney anyway. TROS did very well so he didn’t hurt Disney. Knives Out seems to be getting recieved well to so it didn’t hurt him either.
On the other hand Star Wars fans as a whole look like immature 9 year old brats who throw a fit and attack people because “I didn’t like his movie.”
Wow that concept art is soo dope smh
The only concept art that really jumped out at me was Kylo and Ren in the throne room and Kylo torturing Chewbacca.
Oh. And the First Order Occupied Coruscant
I never disputed that fans don’t act like ass hats on social media. They do. It’s not just a Star Wars thing. It’s unfortunately where we are these days. That said attacking your customers is just stupid. Even if you are right. It’s not just a Rian Johnson thing. It’s been a Disney thing since TLJ. Which only stirs up the hornets nets worth for no benefit to the company. Check that, it isn’t even just a Disney thing.
It’s a “new” corporate strategy that has done nothing but cost companies money. It’s a serious pet peeve of mine. There is no benefit to doing so and it just makes thing worse for the company. I’ve never seen so many for profit business cut them own selves off at the knees by forgetting such a basic concept of business. So many companies attack their customers and then are stupefied when they don’t hit their financial goals.
Yea it sucks ass. Fuck letting them get away with being shit stains.
I didn’t say it was smart. I even said he went down to their level.
Huh?
Yea great. This didn’t hurt Disney’s public perception at all. They didn’t get cut off at the knees by this or anything. They still made a shit load of money hand over fist from people who said they where done but went and saw it anyway. This didn’t hurt Disney so I don’t know why you are bringing it up to me. No one was talking about the business end of , we where talking about the social aspect of it, and in that regard the Star Wars fanbase lost, big time. They are the ones who came.out of this looking absolutly awful.
Disney at home like
Laughs in billions
Chuck Wendig and Freddie Prinze Jr immediately come to mind. Marvel fired Wendig over his tweets.
There is difference between making money and hitting your financial goals. They aren’t cutting back their Star Wars movie out put because everything is fine and dandy. Let’s not be facetious here.
That was stupid.
I’m not being facetious. They made a SHIT LOAD of money. Yea they fell below their projection but they still made ass loads of money so no, I’m sorry, but I’m not even hearing this.
Last time. I don’t care about Disney’s financials. I don’t care about their public perception. My comments about Rian had not a single thing to do with Disney or their business.
Yeah the problem with Wendig was that it was under Ike Perlmutter’s venue, who is Trump’s home boy.
What did he do?
Wife is still ripping through the Star Wars movies. Finished Rouge One tonight. I gotta admit, I love this flick. Honestly would put it in the top 3 Star Wars featured films
