Vader was the definition of a cuck. He hated serving Palpatine, but was too much of pussy to do anything on his own. And Palpatine talked mad shit to Vader on the regular.

I wasnât trying to reduce Leiaâs roll there. Sorry if it came off that way. Iâm not saying that Kylo just randomly turned good for no reason, Iâm saying that heâs just been wildly inconsistent throughout all 3 films. Pertho was like ânah in TLJ he was full on dark lordâ. Which isnât the case since he didnât kill his mom but whatever. Letâs say for the sake of argument that yes Kylo decided that he was the ultimate supreme leader man at the end of TLJ, EP9 literally destroys this. Again it just makes Kylo inconsistent and not in a way that strengthens the character.
Palp wasnât inconsistent in the prequels. Vader wasnât inconsistent in the OT. Maul for what little time he had in the EP1 wasnât inconsistent. This is worse than the Kylo was injured excuse.
Of all the things that JJ could have doubled down on is Rey being a Mary Sue. Her training is pedantic.
Rey does things untrained = Mary Sue
Rey trains with Leia, gains a light side force power that makes sense and overcomes her struggle with the Dark side because of it = Mary Sue

Yeah, I agree with this. TLJ seemingly left it off with him being irredeemable, cosigned even by Leia saying her son is completely gone. And Reyâs âvisionâ of him turning explained by Snoke influencing those visions.
I wish he would have remained the final boss.

Books explained it better, after the surgery and cybernetics Vader literally couldnât touch Palpatine, it was like Palpatine was unreachable in the force. He even planned replacements and sent Vader on missions that should be suicide.
Palpatine was the only one not crushed by Vaders rage, everything else in the room got wrecked but Palpatine.
