Star Killer was dope AF though. Then they ruined it with The DLC Unleashed II. I actually liked that his peoples crest was the origin of the Rebellion’s Crest.

I liked Star Killer’s character and the idea behind but having him start the rebellion was too much IMO. I hated the amount of retconning that needed to be done to make the game’s story work. I would love to see him and Ahsoka meet before legends became non-canon.

The problem is that the games are canon. So Vader’s student creating the rebellion and pulling down star destroyers with the force became canon.

He’s speaking more inline with Kylo feeling inconsistent. The fact that EP9 pushes Reylo just adds to that. One moment Kylo wants to kill Rey than the next moment he wants to be with her to fuel his own self interests.

Vader was never like this…

You could argue that him being inconsistent makes him a more compelling character (I’ve done this too) but everything surrounding Kylo makes no sense. Straddling between good/bad in TFA, then he does it in TLJ till Rey turns his offer down and then he’s just a bad guy. Than in EP9 he has a moment with Han and then he’s not a bad guy. What is Kylo’s motive for stopping Palp at that point? I mean the only solid thing you could say is because he loves Rey. Which is fine I guess… but most of the film was him being annoyed that some demi god was coming back to cuck his position as Supreme Leader. I get annoyed talking about Kylo more than any other character in this set of films because he clearly had the most potential and it was just wasted. I can at least give Rian some credit for trying to peel back the layers (IE removing the mask permanently) but then JJ was like “nah, mask on”.

He thinks her getting more training is dumb because she’s already shown by way of poor writing that she has all the force anyway. This isn’t even a bad critique because it calls to question why JJ felt the need to show on screen training. Oh I know! It’s because this was one of the main things people bitched about in TFA/TLJ and JJ felt like he had to show that Rey wasn’t just absorbing force powers like a Mega Man character getting a new buster upgrade. Honest to god I remember watching the first trailer that showed her training I literally thought… why?

Seriously, in no way can there be a critique of a movie that lasts longer than the movie itself.

It will almost always take longer to explain why a scene does or doesn’t work. If you’re critiquing a film to show why stuff doesn’t work you have to be thorough. Long doesn’t equal bad. many people on YT will just give you a quick run down of their general feelings but most are leaving it up the watcher to form their own opinions. Mauler isn’t that type of person because he’s a fan of long form analysis.

Also Mauler never said he should give up anything just because of the reveal. He’s saying that the reveal of Palp to Kylo does nothing for his character in any meaningful way.
