I got this for the PS3 and I don’t know about you xbox people, but I’m about to trade this in tomorrow for anything else. The controls’ sensitivity is fucking ridiculous. I know in the past ssx, you can spin pretty quick but I can’t aim at any feature for shit in this game. I’ve played this for a few hours now and I’m fed up with the controls. And also it seems almost hit or miss on landing on rails, again if it wasn’t for the sensitivity being so damn high, this wouldn’t be a problem. God damn I’m some what disappointed on this last installment. The controls on the ssx before this one was spot on for me, this, this is fucking garbage, like the developers completely forgot about the controls. WHAT THE FUCK!
I found Mac to not be quite as twitchy as the other characters.
I have a far bigger problem with how many courses have run ending pits in them.
I dunno, if that means I have to resort to only using mac, what the fuck is the point of all the other characters? I seriously can’t get past how shitty the controls are to this game. They got a lot of good shit, I don’t even like dubstep and some of the dubstep style tracks are alright. The features are pretty good with the exception of the death traps like you mentioned. Fuck the rewind button, I never liked that option in other games I played and I seem to be using this shit way more often then I need to(and that’s not because I’ve only been a few hours in, on other games, I never touched the feature period). I’m going to take a break on this for tonight and try again tomorrow, but if I feel the same way, I’ll cut my losses and trade it in for something else. Very very disappointed in the controls.
Is it that bad? I haven’t had time to really try it, but the demo was fine to me. In fact it felt like it was easy mode to land shit.
Maybe you can use him to get used to it then move on to others? I really am not having much of an issue with the game control wise I don’t see why you’re having so much trouble. Are you using the classic or new controls? If new are you using the stick for tricks or the buttons?
After a bit of playing I got pretty used to how the game handles. It’s still kinda twitchy but it’s not throwing me off too much honestly. I completely ignore the Rewind feature myself. If I feel like I need to rewind, I just restart, especially on trick events.
I’m really feeling this game, only issue is no one on my friends list plays it, so far I’ve just been dropping those mod things in insane spots because I appreciate it when other people drop them in hard ass to get places, makes the game really fun.
The level designs are actually pretty awesome, they really have some insane tracks in there which I’m really liking so far. The tracks all seem to have little quirks that let you dominate in races which is cool, but finding the best lines for the trick runs has been the best part of the game for me so far.
landing the tricks are easy, it’s aiming the character to a feature that’s ridiculously difficult. I barely touch the left stick and the character veers off to that direction way too damn quick that I completely over shoot the take off. It’s stupid twitchy and ruins everything about the game.
Again, it’s the sensitivity of turning the character on the ground, it’s way too unstable. I’ve played past SSX games on the playstation 2 and the controls weren’t nearly as out of control as this one. Did the developers tune the movement of the characters using a broken controller?
Again, I dunno because I’m not having that big a problem with putting my character where I want them BBQ. It took some getting used to but now I’ve got it. My problems are things like Ramps leading to pits an stuff. Hell getting on rails is easier then it’s ever been…too easy in fact, the magnet effect is super strong.
Now that I think about it, before I got this game, I played it at Best Buy on the 360 and don’t think I had the same feelings on the controls, maybe it’s just the ps3 version that sucks. Tomorrow I’m going to verify if that is true. But as for getting on rails, again it’s hit or miss when I played.
I’m on the ps3 version and I haven’t noticed it being twitchy at all, idk man maybe its just a preference thing.
This game is fucking horrid and the physics are broken as hell. You can snowboard up the mountains for fuck sakes and no matter what you do, you’ll never fall off your board.

Anyway. Been playing the fuck out of this. When I started I only had 1 rival. Now that I have a cool dozen, the experience is much different. Despite being mainly a fighting game player, I feel like my friends list is going to be 90% populated by SSX rivals here soon. So who’s playing so I can add you?
Yeah me falling head first on some rocks without my character falling of his board or getting any penalty is me doing it wrong. Should have known that coming from a shitty current gen game such as this.

I’m not great at these Race events yet, can never get the gold time. Is it just a matter of leveling up your character more? I had no problem winning any event in World Tour (even though you didn’t have to WIN half of them lol) but the gold times in Explore are well beyond that.
I have a character at almost level 10 and I still can’t meet some of the race or gold times in explore. Some guys are abusing the fucking shit out of the wing suit for the race courses.
You are on the 360, I use the ps3, and even if it was just me, I googled “my problem” and there are quite a few others that felt the exact same damn way. Fuck this game. The shitty controls with the death traps it’s like “hey let’s really make everyone use the fucking rewind button or restart all over again LOL.” For those that are thinking about getting the game. If you can some how get past on how sucky moving the characters are, then this game is worth the redbox until the price drops significantly. If you value core mechanics, you will be pissed. But then again, it could just be me and only me…
