I feel the same way. I think Zangief may have come out worse with a lot of characters getting buffed more but at least there might be more variety now.
Sim is a pretty solid character but I don’t see his problems with bad match ups going away over night. The twin nerf will help but he’ll still have seth etc. to deal with.
take that shit back. i hope mago goes back so you can get his band wagon butt buddies back too
Not our fault your tier whoring with scrubby sagat.
hey ryu 14. no one likes you here.
And no one like scrubby fei long players, should remove fei long from the franchise and fei long players from this world.
your mom loves my fei long. ask her. she says somethin about a “sweet rekka stroke”
Wonder why he’s ditched her for Viper as of late.
As soon as he was eliminated in singles, he went to another character. Maybe Cammy is not as good as he thought?
I wonder the same thing about Z man. I think shp knockdown will need to find use.
Or Viper is a better character.
Kindevu is a master of like 6000 characters lol (Rufus, Cammy, Viper, Seth, E.Ryu, Akuma, Sagat, Yun and maybe some more), he’ll use whatever he feels like it at the time.
So, as I sort of suspected would occur waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back at the start. Makoto didn’t get nerfed much overall (since they didn’t bother to change a single thing based on location test data.) but everyone elses changes have basically conformed her into the solid mid tier character that everyone forgets about except a handful of specialists.
Def the most overhyped character of AE in terms of hype vs actual effectiveness and now that hype was killed with 2012. Still gonna main her though because I love her design and she certainly is still a solid character. I just find it funny that suddenly everyone has forgotten about her now.
Makoto’s not gonna be much better or worse off in the grand scheme than she is now. I see her still being top 10, and if not, pretty close to it.
I doubt she’ll be top 10 but she certainly didn’t lose or gain anything out of this. Her gameplay is the same, just her matchups changed slightly (mostly worse but 3 of her worst matchups with Fei/Yun/Yang are better now so it is kind of a wash)
The thing is that in AE people overhyped her as top tier putting her in lists next to chars like Sagat, Akuma, Yun, Yang, Fei when really she was barely top 10 much less top 5. The changes to all of the other characters being “buffs” while hers are almost all “nerfs” or small “buffs” makes other characters suddenly seem better and players re-evaluate their positions on her.
It is like how people don’t read movie/game reviews and simply skip to the final score. If there are more nerfs than buffs than suddenly the character is far worse off, even if the nerfs are minor there are MORE of them. It worked in reverse for Super - AE. Makoto got a ton of really good buffs that helped her, but people overhyped her because while she got all these buffs, almost everyone else was getting nerfs.
Not to mention the damage increase on EX SRK and he is still much better than he was in Super.
Well that was to be expected I guess, even though Capcom were more open than usual they still don’t tell the full story. Pray your character doesn’t get the Cammy treatment and get 4-5 unlisted nerfs… and than they can give you 1 back next patch as your buff. (I really would’ve liked to have seen SSFIV Cammy with the Divekick for Imp Normals swap, but Capcom had other ideas…).
hopefully ken got his active frames back on his low forward like ryu did. i would like that stealth buff. but even if he didn’t, i can’t complain. he’ll be a VERY solid character with no less than 4 or 5 bad mu’s ( 6-4’s ), and no exploitable 7-3 mu. so in the end, i’m happy.
I got to play v2012 last Friday, didn’t notice any unlisted changes for Chun but who knows, she may have a few I didn’t find.
And Yun is still a bastard. Just, blocking against him is a bit safer, and throwing out upkicks for reversal isn’t as braindead. But a lot of what made him good in the first place is still there.
…that is the way it should be.
