Well according to air it isnt JUST CH EX fireball to U2.I hope it can link into any attack like he says because that would actually be an okay buff at that point,especially if you can sweep after it for UKD safe jumps.
Well, It is a loketest atm and I was refering to changes known at this point. So if anything, Air is a credible source so far since he plays Ryu professionally. What else did he say about Ryu in AE 2012? I haven’t heard from him for a while and his blog recently posted a matchup for Yun.
He said escape tatsu is back with slightly different timing,thats about it though sadly.

Do you guys think that the extended hitbox will help with dp trade into U2 or AA into U2? Maybe there will be more hits when it doesnt fully connect.
Umm… unless they change the properties of U2 to hit the juggling state of DP, I think U2 will be the “Kinjite” Shoryuken, ie. the multi hitting one., so no full animation, and U2 is already an AA with the extended hitbox it receives in AE 2012 Alpha. So why bother with AA LP.DP>U2 (no animation) when U2(Full animation) is already an AA? But then again it is subject to change and we’ll see more changes in the beta.
Not necessarily, but yeah it’s still the same. Just have to get Ryu to use his approach moves (lk.tatsu/ dash/ jump ins) better to utilise it. Keep in mind that his CR.MK now forces Ryu player to actually be close to be utilised.
Well you can do cr. MPx2, cr. HP, tatsu against Sagat, and only Sagat. Damage and stun is pretty good if you can land it. And if you do it in the corner with EX tatsu(for some reason it only happens when I jump in with a HK), it will always cause a reset so if you add Ultra, it’ll only be scaled to 80% instead of 40% for a total of 690 damage.

A little trick : When you block an uppercut from Sagat, you can cross under him and the cr.mp x2 , c.hp will connect as a punish.
thats a very powerful reset you can perform on a lot of characters. it can actually be blocked, but most people don’t know how and you land a free almost guaranteed reset.
woudn’t you rather do sps->cr.hp->srk? 2mp has more scaling.
so let me get this right. You’ve cornered Sagat and you manage to jump in with j.fp, c.mp, c.mp, c.fp xx ex tatsu, U1. This combo resets in the middle of the ex tatsu which means the U1 is not scaled as much as normal which gives 690 damage?
I am not sure witch punish does more damage and stun of the 2, dont have access to an Xbox.
The trick is pretty good if you block Sagat uppercut and youre Ryu is cornered.
This way after the cross down and combo you can juggle at the end with a Srk.
It could be a good way to regain positional advantage also if your close to the corner.
that’s the things yes. it’s a very strict setup though. you can do sps->cr.mp->cr.hp ex tatsu. it can reset as well
a guaranteed reset is: j.hk -> cr.hp -> hadoken -> FADC -> cr.mp -> cr.hp -> ex tatsu
thanks. I tested this out vs a cornered sagat but initially I couldnt get it to work as I had the training dummy set to autoblock, so it actually blocked the ex tatsu the correct way, lol! I turned off the block and I got the reset.

[Hadouken]: Damage has been increased from 60->70. Chip damage remains the same at 15.
[H. Shoryuken]: Changed to be a 1 hit move, from the previous 2 hits. Start up is 3F. A deep hit (from active 1F to 2F) deals 160 damage, a shallow hit (from active 3F and up) deals 60 damage. First 4F from startup are invincible. Also [H.Shoryuken] cannot be EX Focus Canceled anymore, regardless of hit or block, so the risk and reward has been increased.

To me the only buff is the return of invincibility to fierce SRK. 10 damage doesn’t mean much, especially when scaled during hit confirms. One hit doesn’t mean anything without FADC. Some people tend to forget that Ryu didn’t lose much damage from the Ultra nerf, he lost most of his damage from the SRK nerf being 2 hit and 100 on the first hit. If MP SRK remains the same then we’ll have to use LP SRK to FADC into Ultra for max damage.
My conclusion is that this is a buff overall. We can use fierce SRK for more damage to end combos and as a anti-air and jab SRK still gets us the same damage when we’re going for max damage combos into Ultra. Just too bad that we can’t FADC it, it’s clear that Capcom didn’t want Ryu to be able to almost do the damage he did in vanilla with a fierce SRK, FADC, Ultra(which would have been 455 in AE 2012).
All trails are useless. Mass combos need to be change.
