So what’s changed to make it easier to do now?
It’s either the fireball (recovery/how it makes the opponent fall,) or reduced push-back off the normal attacks.
Found something new about Ryu in 2012.
If you go through a fireball with an EX fireball, you will get a free juggle state on the opponent, thus you can follow up with sweep/hp shoryu/whatever if in range.
Here’s a vid to showcase it, excuse the quality. But it shows the point.

Nice, a hidden buff, and you found it! Good Job.
not so much. I figured it has a juggle state now since ch ex fb acts that way.
The only other change i like.
His c.mk IS NOT back to the way it was in super. I’ve tested it so many times and it’s still nowhere near what it was. What you don’t realize with the change is that it’s the DURATION of the hit DETECTION that was changed, and it’s making you all think that the length of his hitbox was changed, and your opponent’s hurtbox moves back, then forward again within hit-stun which is why combos made impossible in ae are again possible. Also, it makes it more likely to hit your opponent when he/she walks forward or uses any moves that extends their hurtbox
Although I have no argument to this comment, I would just like to say that Air tested and found out that the hitbox of the CMK was back to how it was in super.
Visually the c.mk reach further, but some real test have to be done to know for sure
Just something I feel is really important guys. I recently heard in Super there was a stealth nerf to Ryu’s c.mp hitbox? And then in AE they stealth buffed it back? It’s such a fucking crucial move…so can someone get some solid info on the state of it now? (if it’s always been the same, or how many versions of it there is, the hitbox picture if possible, and what version it’s similar to/same of now).
Thank you ahead of time.
I was beeing sarcastic
All the buffs aside, do i detect that the SPS to CR.HP link is now easier to link? I mean sure it wasn’t that hard in Super but I felt it connects better in this version than in AE. I am even doing it so much more consistently now. Maybe because of the faster SPS people have been reporting? Just a thought…
I am not sure its easier but its at least as easy, personnaly I feel its exactly the same but I may be wrong.
Is the same timing, bro. Both versions are +4f on hit.
Daigo thinks Ryu is top tier… not sure if troll.
Agree. Ryu and Cammy have to be right up there as top S class charc now. With the changes done on other charc, Ryu is relatively much more powerful(even though his move r nerfed) than sfiv. The result is a S tier in ssfiv ae2012 compared to A tier in sfiv.
Akuma can be S tier, however, he is trickier to use. I say A tier.
Ryu is not S tier. He still has several bad match ups still (Yun, Rose, Bison, Guile, Balrog, Dhalsim) to name a few.
Daigo also said Zangief was going to be the strongest character in AE
lol yun, rose, bison, guile and balrog? maybe bad matches for you and im sure he said fei+yun+yang are the strongest… zangief one of the best
You guys are trying to make it seem like he’s better than he was in Super. He’s roughly about the same and those matches I mentioned are known match ups where Ryu was at a disadvantage. However to make matters worse his escape tatsu isn’t complelety back and he is screwed if he gets cornered by Balrog and Guile. You basically have to count on your opponent making a mistake.
RYU top tier??? YESSSS THAT MEANS DAIGO IS USING RYU FOR EVOOO!! YESSS, Things are back to the way it should be
Ryu 3 special move now strike fear into every charc. Srk, fb and tatsu.
Now meter is mainly used for super. Ultra is not important.
There are plenty of escape option other than immediate air tatsu. Anyway why escape? It’s not necessary now with the 3 special move buff.
Rose, yun, guile and balrog are not bad matchup in AE2012. It’s in Ryu’s favor.
