Ok, but this is exactly where it gets kinda confusing. The blog states the overall movement AND REACH are back to SSFIV levels… But looking at the screenshots rashed posted there, the reach could only be the same as SSFIV if they moved the hitbox (red) back out to where it was before, right? That assumes I’m reading the hitbox data correctly
Hmm then if its exactly the same then i will take it. I just don’t expect to use it against the twins. I will miss the speed of the ae version. It was much harder for people to punish me.
With any luck the two added frames move the hitbox forward. So that on the 3rd frame it looks like the AE cr.mk and on the 5th it looks like the SSFIV cr.mk. It might explain how they mean the reach is back.
Capcom are seriously strange peoples, after completely destroying the character, they making it better than ever, do they think before making an update ?

I am not sure Daigo will be back with Daigo. Remember what happen to him with SSF4 Ryu in Godgarden online.
Daigo need a character to counter Fei long witch is at leat 7-3 match up, according to Daigo and Mago.

Fei should be 6-4. Without Yang’s pretty much fully invincible dp, it should be 5 - 5 or maybe 4.5 - 5.5 in yang’s favor. I’m just scared about how Makato, guile, and sim will be for Ryu…
nah hopefully Fei gets more nerfs so the MU is 6-4 in favour of Ryu, Ryu > Fei cannon, Karate > Kung fu irl, Any karate fighter > Bruce Lee irl.
Makes no sense Fei beats Ryu hopefully capcom fixes this.
Yes I am so happy that Ryu’s cr.mk is back but I want the recovery frames in AE to remain the same.

It won’t be easier to punish on whiff, because in AE they didn’t remove 2 frames from the move, they turned 2 of the active frames into recovery frames, so the move has always had the same amount of total frames throughout all the games
Hmm yeah i remember that. So is it the recovery animation is longer in ae and the active animation is shorter? the move sure looks like it recovers faster. can anyone explain why it looks like the overall duration of the move is faster when on paper it is not.
The reach of the CRMK will be the same than ssf4. So the hitbox will be back too.
IIRC in AE they removed 2 active frames and DIDN’T touch any recovery frames, making the whole duration of the move faster.
now they just gave back the 2 active frames, so the duration of the move will be axactly the same it was in SSF4.
as for the hit box, hurt box and reach, it stays as in AE.
the only change they made from SSF4 to AE was extending the HURT box over the HIT box. This didn’t change the reach when AE came out and it won’t change now either.

since HIT box didn’t change from SSF4 to AE, and “reach” is determined by the HIT box… i think i’m right.
only the HURT box changed from SSF4 to AE, and that doesn’t change if you can or not hit someone from a certain distance; hence reach.
I guess the second picture refers to the last active frame of AE’s c.MK (4th active frame) while the first one is about the last active frame of the move in SSF (5th active frame). Maybe the move’s reach get back to what it was in SSF. The 5th frame was more important to me to pass under moves and to combo SP, c.MP, c.MP, c.MK xx hp tatsu against some chars, in the current version it only works on Blanka. As a poke, it doesnt changed much.the older or the new reach to me. It may not work for the combo if the 5th frame have the same reach of the 4th, tough.
