mp is -6, and fp is -8, but they are easier to hit confirm than jab, so that balances the fact that they are unsafe. but since not many players punnish or know how to punnish it, there is no risk tbh
character unfamiliarity goes a long way.
Wow what a surprise.
Capcom just blows their load by releasing the most unbalanced version of Sf4 to the arcade. Good thing they didn’t release the twins on consoles first so they could be tested/balanced before pushing it onto the arcades (which cant be updated). That would’ve made too much sense.
I actually saw a couple of matches today where Yun somehow lost- which is incredibly rare and I’m being serious. I couldn’t believe it. Hopefully Capcom buffs them a bit for the console version so this never happens again. I suggest giving lunge punch some invulnerability like chicken wing, that way there is literally nothing a player can do to avoid it and get mixed up for free.
Also maybe an Ultra 3 where Yun reveals himself to actually be Zangief in a mask (like the spy in Team fortress 2) and proceeds to do his zero frame SPD. That way the opponent is even more fucked once Yun is in (which is whenever Yun decides to get in).
Well they can jump over it. I suggest Capcom give the lunge punch a stupidly huge vertical hitbox to compensate for that powerful defense tactic. I’m talking SFA3 Final M.Bison Psycho Crusher super here.
Hyperbole is cool. Yun and Yang aren’t “broken” by any means. The only thing truly stupid about Yun is EX lunge allowing for a free mid-screen juggle into Ultra. Other than that they are perfectly fine.
Jumping over it forces you to react very quickly. If you fuck up youll get hit and I think Yun can even ultra you. Its pretty fucked up Yun can do something so random FROM FULL SCREEN to FORCE you to react (aka do something other than block=unsafe) just to avoid his 500000 mixup options.
Also I’ve seen people neutral jump it on time and come down with a neutral attack, but luckily Yun usually will recover on time to block/dragon kick(depends on the characters jump height/timing)- because we wouldnt Yun to have to take any sort of risk to get in.
It should do the same chip too.
Soooooooooooooooource?
if that’s the case then label them broken or ban them in tournaments and move along
we all sat through vanilla sagat and the twins aren’t as bad as him.
on the topic of ex-lunge punch, it’s difficult to react to. the players i play against to spam it as much as they could (or spam it at all even) so it may just be that i dont expect it yet. i think with more practice it will become a non-issue. the advantage of it bothers me slightly but at least it costs ex. treat it like vega’s old cosmic heel when you block it and you’ll be fine.
you could crouch heel though
That makes no sense since vanilla Sagat was a lot worse and they love vanilla.
And besides isn’t Yang not even top like 3, even 5 on most tier lists?
He’s just making things up to troll. Please stop responding to him.
Tokido told me in Beat by contest he didn’t really like AE because he felt twins were too strong and Super is more balanced, he could be biased because akuma will have a little more trouble in AE tho.
Imo, tiers just changed. The game doesnt really look more balanced, akuma and feilong will be superior to everyone just like they are in Super, cammy will be no longer the best character in the game but still pretty good and then we have yun and yang who were added with the sole purpose of being overpowered.
At least they nerfed honda, the most stupid character in super tied with viper. What mike ross was doing at final round it’s the perfect example of how bad you can play with this character and still win, glad they destroyed him.
Too bad they didn’t nerf viper too, characters that give better results relying on random and not blocking should be reworked or nerfed to the ground.
The plain hp lunge seems to be easy to space and make safe as well so they dont need ex. I always see yuns do it then a random dragon kick beating the other players jab/short.
If some people aren’t convinced by Yun’s strength just watch japanese tourneys. Seeing every week seasoned players feeling helpless against flowchart Yuns is very painful to watch.
This doesn’t happen with Fei, Viper or whatever. They sure are scary in the right hand, but when they face a superior player they lose, period.
Tokido at Final Round is the source.

its ok. i know you don’t want to believe it tokido was pretty much putting AE on blast at Final Round for the most part
I spoke with Tokido at Final Round and he told me directly that Japan doesn’t like AE due to Yun. I don’t see why you niggas don’t want to believe it. Just accept the harsh reality that the Japanese don’t like all the games and move on.
everyone already knew yun and yang were the best
how could you not be the best when you have an uppercut, divekicks, command grab, high damage/stun, ridiculous supers/meter building and two good ultras?
that being said I don’t think they’re unbeatable, just incredibly easy and strong.
yun wouldnt be so bad if half the cast didnt get nerfed.
How does Sakura fare in this version?
Is she higher on the list?
