Skatan doesn’t rely on resets… Neither does uyro who got a 77 win streak with sakura…
People have a thing for making average sound broken. Especially when being average includes a couple of ok reset and pressure OS shenanigans.
Being average also isn’t a bad thing, let alone a death sentence in IV (well…at least in Super…when Ono didn’t admit to trying to re-establish an S-tier character…).
Yeah why can Uryo beast with Sakura yet everyone else gave up hope?Uryo displays some common sense matchup knowledge and solid fundamentals with her and makes her look far from bottom tier.Hes in the top 10 bp rankings at the moment with her so I hope his decision to stick with her solves the mystery about Sakura’s tier placement.
Then again,seeing Uryo vs Zangitan was quite painful and he admittedly switched to Viper for that one.

Sakura is a very strong character in SSFIV, just underplayed. It´s not hype, the character is competitive and pretty good (and much better in AE)
Sakura isn’t bad in Super but she’s severely underplayed. I’ve seen more Gens than Sakura. She dishes out high damage/stun and has decent normals. The few people who do play Sakura are strong with her.
Sanford said he thought Sakura was much better and was gonna use her as one of his tournament characters.Only time he really pulled her out was East Coast Throwdown for like one or two matches.
After that though,only person I know who uses her in the states is Citiofbrass.
Sak with 2-3 bars in footsie range is ridiculously scary, not to mention she has a good FA, blockstrings, and blows up cr.tech meaning she has more opportunities to deal damage than just jumping in or resetting.
I dont play seth, but its obvious from playing agianst decent and good Seth’s, that he cant zone as good any more. so how the fuck is he supposed to set up his rush down? Walk forward and jump in with no cover? Please.

dunno has anyone remember this but everyone hyped the fuck out of evil sakura in mvc2 back in the days just because of some theoretical bullshit (teleport thru and between ahvb, instant 50% beam super). of course that didnt last.
Sakura only needs 2 bars and c.mk to get 430+ damage. With 3 bars she gets 460 from c.mk and puts them in the corner from pretty much anywhere on the screen. And while Sakura isn’t able to jump in “for free” she’s one of the few characters that is actually allowed to jump in most matchups because she’s got very strong air normals coupled with her air shunpu which will make shoryukens whiff, and on block you’re + a lot. When she makes a shoryu whiff with air shunpu she can punish with cl.hp x lk shunpu, c.hp x ex shunpu, otoshi x2, meaty lv3 hado, so people tend to get scared of trying to go for that shoryu when they learn the risk.

It doesnt matter she has ass for wake up. And she is weak against more than half the cast. She isnt good.

Im sure someone who hasnt played Sakura as much as you knows more than you, im also sure that the average player knows more about a character than the top player using him.

Sakura’s had a stigma of being a bad character since Vanilla that she hasn’t been able to shake. She’s gotten nothing but buffs since Super and AE dropped and people still aren’t willing to even consider that she could POSSIBLY be a good character even though she’s had a ton of shit added to her arsenal. I guess she needs a divekick or some other fucking retarded bullshit to be considered “good” these days/
