SSF4 Tier List Thread REBOOT Super + AE (Updated: 02-01-09)

You can chalk it up to Daigo nut-riding cocksuckery.

your bipson > any rose ever

So exactly how would dictator : Character that recieved nerf on everything except his hat , still remains in the same position / even better in AE?

Must be some kind of trickery!

Because of the type of characters that are relevant and used often in AE

Hey, if it makes people feel any better about Yun…considering his current “S tier” status…he’s got no where to go, but downward in the long run.

^^ Psycho Drive ?

I must’ve been living under a rock. What got nerfed?

Bison nerfs are really insignificant. Some actually consider them either a buff, or very very close to neutral.

Overall Bison has been buffed, if anything.

almost everyone else got hit by the nerf bat while he got hit by the nerf tennis racket.

Bison needs the hat though, without it he becomes so Hakanlike.

Guile happened.

You’re right. I forgot Guile AND Honda got nerfed hard.

The thing is though Guile still has the same recovery on SB’s, great anti-airs, but I hear his airthrow got nerfed?

I think, although Guile will have to zone a lot more, that Guile will still be a big problem for Bison as he has the same tools. Maybe Bison can be a bit more wreckless now and afford to take whatever damage guile throws out to get him knocked down.

Even though his long-awaited, much-needed cape buff was not granted :frowning:

We will get our cape on the 11th!
It’s not a long cape, but it’s a cape!

I’m so happy about the guile and honda nerfs. hehehe

I never thought bison was that strong so I’m happy he didnt get too nerfed.

Yeah Dic/Bison being played a lot and earning a lot of BP by the Japanese is a testament to how u can’t just look at the nerfs of one character. Everybody got nerfs and that all affects how things will turn out in the end. Bipson still kicks just like he does now and still has very few trouble matchups due his strength in fundamentals. He’ll more than likely still die to Guile but at least it’ll be a bit more manageable for him. Most of the cast will still struggle to fight Bipson and it’s obvious with many people getting on the Bipson train in Japan.

Ken and Fei Long dont surprise me as heavily picked either due to how they were already formidable charcters that received nothing but buffs. Sagat surprises me a bit I guess due to how Yang or some other strong character could easily replace him. Yet the slight buffs to his game are probably enough to make him a real solid character that people are confident in using again . He might change when things really start to get going but Sagat is definitely a force in AE.

Gen, Hakan and Dan rounding out the least in BP is not that surprising. Still a lot to figure out with Gen and Hakan since Gen got changed up a lot already and now has new stuff in AE. Hakan obviously still has things to be learned about him and all of his changes with his buffs will take a while to iron out. Gouken being around the lower in BP average is kind of surprsing though. I can only imagine Gouken will go up in the BP tiers soon. He’s one of the only fireball centered characters that didn’t get nerfed in some fashion and his frame trap/whiff punish game was already top notch. Which is only augmented when rounded out with a 6 frame sweep that’s only neg 3 on block for setting up untech knockdowns and a great dash for setting up throw/sweep mind games. Gouken has Vanilla Sagat worthy damage output and with his buffs will only become a big force soon.

Gen might have a low BP average, but the fact that Amiyu, Japan’s top Gen player, is currently ranked 7th in the overall BP rankings indicates that the character is very strong and possibly a contender for top/upper-mid tier… Just that few people are able to tap that potential right now.

I’m not sure if you can really extrapolate a tier placement based on 1 player having very high BP. Can I say that Blanka looks to be high/upper-mid tier because there is a Blanka player I never heard of cracking the top 10 BP ranking?
