People bitching about AE are just dumb.
I’ve seen plenty of high level vids of Guile, Gief, Blanka, Dictator and Chun in AE and they’re still strong as hell. Just scrubs that complain because they could barely win with them in super.
AE is a lot more balanced than super imo.
With the exception of Yun and Yang. Yang’s super especially is like nothing the SF4 series has seen yet. It’s by far the most powerful technique yet in the right circumstance.
Super might look more balanced because there were no OP characters, but the number of viable characters in AE makes it a much more balanced game, IMO.

Maybe sans makoto, out of who got buffed, who magically got viable that wasnt viable in super? I guarantee we wont be seeing any floods of Dan’s or Hakans. The one or two dan players and the handful of hakans will still be around, but dont act like the flood gates are open now thanks to AE.

Ae seems to have succeeded in swapping tiers, whether or not that means more balanced remains to be seen. Yeah nerf Honda but then put someone else in his place only with more options on a more or less nerfed roster… right…

Also, the tiers might’ve changed but viability on the other hand has not. Characters that were viable in Super are still viable now.
Yes, as someone who has seen match vids, you clearly are qualified to talk about the state of balance in AE.
I’m not sure on that one. My gut feeling at least is Sim isn’t tourney viable any longer. Between his nerfs, other character’s buffs, and the twins, he’s in pretty rough shape.
I’ll be really shocked/impressed if we see a Sim make it out of pools this year.
As for balance, I think we’ll see an increase in the spread between top and bottom tier over super by the end of AE.
On the plus side, AE Fei is mad fun.

ibuki, makoto seem strong - all low tiers got buffs for the most part
dhalsim, honda, vega, fuerte, rose all got nerfed pretty badly - most of them had stupid tools taken away but weren’t given anything in return 
guile is ??? I thought he was one of the best in super but I’m not sure of his situation now, same thing with Ryu
having played a lot of AE boxer I can say he’s more or less the same, however headbutt must be like -30 on block now and is punishable by everything on whiff - his damage is lower overall which makes no sense since he did shit damage in super lol
yun and yang are assholes, honda sucks, akuma is still a dick, blanka ball is punishable by everything

Seriously doubt Dhalsim, Seth, and Fuerte are truly viable anymore. Dhalsim definitely doesn’t look too good at this point. Seth can’t really hang with nearly half of the cast. Same thing goes for Fuerte. I’m almost tempted to say Zangief isn’t viable anymore either, if the Topanga cup was showing how he matches up against the best of the cast. Twins are supposed to be his good match-ups? What do his bad ones look like?
…well, in regards to overall viability, I would agree though. Many more characters stand more of a chance now.
Yun does not have a bad matchup with Zangief. Target Combo 4 absolutely destroys Zangief at mid range. He also has a meterless invincible anti-air in case Gief jumps. He can also bully Gief with standing roundhouse and Palm Strike to the point where Gief is running away from Yun, not the other way around.
I’d say it’s a 5-5. If Gief’s EX Green Hand could still knock down, then it would be a bad matchup for Yun. The reason for this is if Yun decides to do Hard Dragon Kicks to evade a crossup and fly to the other side of the screen, Gief could follow him and punish with a knockdown. The other reason why it would be a bad matchup is that since EX Green Hand is invulnerable to projectiles, it can punish the Palm attack (it’s considered a projectile) and knock Yun down.
You would have to have good reactions as a Yun player to make the matchup even. This includes whiff punishing and Palm timing.

gief vs yun is in favor of gief but I don’t think its THAT bad. prolly just 6-4 because of the reasons u posted Nyoronoru, but yun does bleed and Giefs Jab SPD buff puts yun in a bad place.
I’m okay with most of the nerfs in AE (They went overboard on Guile and Dhalsim, but most of the other nerfs were to retarded stuff like Rose and Abel’s U2s), and most of the characters that needed buffs got them. There were some errors here and there but there will never be perfect balance in a game no matter how many times it gets revised.
You know, I thought the fact that green hand didn’t knock you down was also to Gief’s disadvantage, but after playing a long set today, I have to say my opinion has changed. Ex green hand doesn’t knock you down, but it still leaves you guessing, almost like a reset. He could pressure with a block string, throw, pile driver or jump, and unless you guess right, you’ll end up just sitting there, blocking and waiting for the inevitable spd.
And IMO, lariat got really good as an AA. Neutral jump still beat it, but everything else either got stuffed or traded.
Then you are wrong, no kd in EX gh is a big nerf and arguing otherwise it´s just not knowing a lot of the options zangief got with it. Just watch the videos i´ve posted and tell me that´s a 6-4 for gief. Zangief is more scared of getting in on yun than viceversa, it´s stupid.
Low tiers got nothing in AE that solves their problems except makoto that just got 200 buffs. The rest will still be the same and a low tier will never win a serious tournament of AE specially with the twins + akuma/feilong being almost the same as super.
