I didn’t mention tiers in my post, it’s more about the amount and variety of tools. I AM indeed biased because rose was my main in A2 and god, it’s not just that she’s broke, I could do crouch strong all day but it’s not what makes the character fun, it’s the vast amount of viable options and the versatility of the character that I liked. HP reflect is a great example because altho it looks the same, it had so many more uses in A2. After a crossup and c.mp it was perfect, after a meaty it was perfect especially in the corner and you got a free super grab on hit, could continue pressuring on block and (for the broken retarded part) did stupid stun. Her super fireball was an amazing reversal, her AC, oh lol her AC, antiair c.hp into super, . Soul illusion was too fun to use (not too fun to play against, though), you could actually absorb a fireball and stuff.
When SF4 came I picked rose and I actually did decently with her because she’s very strong early on, then people picked up and I didn’t have much to play with. Even her bnb is the fucking worst and unless you have super it’s punish every mistake with c.mp drill then pokepokepoke and hope your opponent has a brain fart and eats the ultra.
After reading a bit more however, I do see she had improvements I did not know about, I read drill is better now so she might be able to have a fucking bnb. I still feel she should be able to FADC into something after drill hits, tho. Maybe with the new tools people will find FADC combos that are actually worth doing. Maybe her normals will be better. Maybe HP reflect is acually practical, we’ll see.

They also did something with her Short Spiral. Like the hitbox is bigger or something. Shit is good. Been having a lot of success with Jab ST as well. Rose is REALLY good in this game.

sorry, i can’t get the game until capcom decides to release it for the pc, but i saw it happen on the stream. i’m sure that your orbs will also disappear when you throw somebody too
nop you cant, u2 is 0 recovery. The Rose just didnt tech.

No, you can throw the opponent and keep your orbs. I did it yesterday. If the throw gets teched, then the orbs disappear.

Also Iunno if it’s likely that Rose will be much higher on the tiers. I mean there’s a lot of competition among the characters. New ultras for each match-up to be explored, and a lot of tweaks to all the characters. Sure one of the characters will be top, but probably not by much anymore.
Imo U2 is totally the best choice. Even if U1 can combo now with FADC, burning 3 meter is hard, as the super does more dmg now.
U1 might help for matches against T. Hawk. Also, regular Soul Throw beats his dives clean. I’m not sure if Soul Throw was buffed, but a lot of people were saying that I was landing it a lot more than usual. May just be the fact that it’s a new game.
Satellite is too useful to not use. I vow to NEVER use IS in a serious match.

I’m glad it’s about as good as I thought it would be, I was kinda looking forward to playing Guy but that might end up taking a backseat just because of the applications this move has.

I was just playing some ssfiv tonight. Rose is definitely a viable character now. Her play style seems intact but moves just seem to work for once. I was still beaten out of soul throw by some air normals. But ultra 2 is great, I’m excited.
