Can’t understand something… u find taunt offensive on a FIGHTING game?
I’m honestly always astounded at anyone who takes a video game seriously enough to view taunting as an offense. Sure, it’s debatably immature* but in the end, you’re playing a game for teenagers, you’re not a martial artist. I know some people treat Street Fighter like it’s a martial art but let’s get some perspective. =)
If you’re getting angry enough at a taunt to ragequit, you need to step back and stop taking this so seriously.

*for those who say, “It’s an option I have in the game”, the options I have in real life allow me to urinate at any time I choose but I don’t choose to do so on somebody while I’m beating them at Street Fighter, well, only once or twice but I was paid handsomely!
Well said, I think taunts are hilarious, even if I’m getting my ass handed to me, or even if it costs me a winning match, or if they taunted first and I end up coming back to win. Plus as people have said before, it can mess with someone’s game if they take the taunt to heart… somehow. If you can’t deal with the animation, pay 'em back if you’re mad :devil: Unable to? Learn until you can!
KjGarly was a ~7kbp ~3kpp vega. I don’t do that well against vega in general, its not a matchup problem its a mindfuck problem. All this guy managed to do was random wall dives, then on wakeup kkk backflip into scarlet terror. He landed one ambiguous walldive and after that I just shut him down in the corner. He ragequit instantly as round 1 ended. Guess that’s how he keeps his points.
I try not to be one of those crotchety old players that always complains about SF4, but what could have possessed them to let scrubs taunt while blocking?!
People taunt to annoy their opponent. I don’t see why it’s so wrong to return the favour. If you’re gonna act like a douche, then expect to be treated like one. I don’t get mad when someone taunts or when someone ragequits. I don’t quit because I’m mad, I quit to get even. I don’t quit in Endless if someone taunts me. But if it’s Ranked, he’s probably gonna get mad because I robbed him of his precious points.
Like I said, we’re both taunting. My taunt button is just located elsewhere.

End of discussion - I’ll never agree with you that getting sand in your minge over a taunt is justification to quit a match so this is my last post on the subject.

My two cents: rage quitting is a show of poor sportsmanship, even when the other player keeps taunting. If he taunts when you’re kicking his ass he’s a moron, and if he taunts when he’s winning, you might not like it, but it’s justified, get over it. It is truly amazing how serious some people take this game.

I agree with EG, rage quitting because you don’t like a particular part of someone’s gameplay makes you no different to any other rage quitter.

ironically, the trash players are the ones who seem to be concerned with trying to taunt, while most good players are thinking 4 moves ahead. Juicebox’s evo match comes to mind.
Of my about 400 matches online, only 4 or 5 qutters, probably. I’ve been disconnected about the same number of times due to a crappy connection a while back, but it sadly happened when I was dominating a scrub

Only once have I quit on someone, and that was because once the match got started, he apparently got on his microphone and just kept screaming obscenities. So I left and negative feedback’d him.
I had two people ragequit on me today.
1st was a horrible Rufus player. He did nothing but EX messiah kicks and as soon as he got an EX bar he would use one, whether or not I was close or not. Then he would instantly use his Ultra 2, no matter what. What a fucking bitch.
2nd was a horrible Zangief player. He sucked so bad. He ragequited in the middle of round 2 out of pure rage. He then messages me this :** “Looks like I won bitch, Imma spook you in ya dreams!”** Complete idiot. His entire profile is decked out with Transformers things such as quoting certain characters, admitting he worships Optimus Prime, and says he is helping the Autobots stop Megatron…what a fucking moronic bastard. Where do these people come from!!!
Cybertron. Seriously though Transformers is awesome, don’t make me ragequit. Oh if anyone sees libo22 on PSN, expect to be kicked from his room and treated like you lost after you perfect him.
ive played many people that raged quit but one that i remember is DrueFedo because he had a somewhat decent gen but after landing in the same room 5 times in a row he rage quits after losing for the 5th time. opponents taunts seem to make me play smarter and better haha it seems like after they taunt they just get all defensive and end up eating everything
george 9. Played T-Hawk, quit in the last round just as I was about to finish him.
I thought it was a random disconnect so I asked him what happened and got “Kiss ass” in response, lol.
