If Wong wants, he can pay me 40$ so i can teach him Adon match up LMAO !!!
Yeah, cuz 4th place at evo means nothing…right?
What a joke. I mean, I respect their right to do whatever the hell they want, but come on. The only people who are going to spring on something like this are people who don’t know any better.
hahaha I just imagined Daigo going on XBL making a new GT and travelling over here pretending he’s a scrub and owning them…And telling them he wants his money back.
don’t know any better?
what is the cheaper alternative to these lessons?
Do what the rest of us do: man up and learn the game yourself.
Casuals? Tournaments? Reading SRK? Connecting with players better than you who can help you up your game?
The progress we’ve seen in the tournament scene (or, more realistically, the last 20 years) should be more than enough to show that people don’t need “lessons” from top players in order to compete. The only people who are going to drop $40 on these lessons are people who think an hour on XBL with JWong will make them “good.”
How can you seriously be mad? These lessons are out there for people who want to take up their offers. It in no way impacts anybody but those who participate.
Getting so worked up over something that happens all the time, in every competitive game possible, is stupid.
I personally wouldn’t buy them, but I don’t compete. Also, the place I live in has no tournaments/big name players/arcades to “level up” in, so paying 35 bucks for an hour to play some of the best players out there really isn’t a huge deal.
wtf you gonna learn from gootecks
SF4 Balrog Technology?®
I’d rather pay $40 bucks to drive down to the nearest local scene and learn from the local sf community while getting a decent lunch and dinner and probably gas for the trip.
Nope…
fuck evo…what type of person flies to vegas to fuckin play video games
:facepalm.com
The ignorance of comparing Training mode on hardest to playing the best Street Fighter players in the country as having the same effect literally makes my head want to explode. If you don’t want to pay for the service than don’t, but rarely does making comments with this level of stupidity validate being thrifty.
Good luck with that, maybe training mode on hardest will help you prepare for Daigo.
I can’t knock the man’s hustle. You know they are going to make that money. I think an hour of getting ripped apart by Justin will help some people’s game. I play Hakan so I wonder if I can get lessons from ultraDave.
if you really wanted to learn something from a pro player, couldnt you just watch videos of them playing matches and try to emulate them?
Honestly, this is a nice come-up for these guys. You’ve got to think about it like this: How many times do these guys play money matches from kids who probably can’t even as much win a round off of them? These guys know this. They know people have money, and they know that there are plenty of lazy people in this world who would rather pay somebody to do a service for them than to do it themselves.
On the one hand, its easy to say “lrn2play” and just assume that people are dedicated like that, but that seriously isn’t the case. There’s still tons of people who use Steroids in sports, but there will always be people who have more pride in their own skills and mastery of them to stoop so low, so they hit the gym and train hard like a champion every day, getting better by their own sweat and struggles. There is NO asterisk next to these individuals’ skills.
On the other hand, ALL of the information that these individuals can provide is something that has ALREADY been covered somewhere else, whether on this website or another, so it’s not like you’d be learning something that you couldn’t learn on your own. Its all about how much time you’re willing to spend finding that stuff out on your own.
Its like this: How many of you people change your own oil in your car? You could pay somebody to change the oil for your car, which costs about 30$, or you could change the oil yourself, which takes about 10minutes and 12$. In fact, you can google “How to change oil in car” and find out how to do it yourself. Or for those who would rather not deal with the time and trouble, fork over 18 extra dollars for some jiffy-lube full 29point inspection and “top off fluid” service, when in reality, they could just do THE SAME SERVICE THEMSELVES.
It’s all about what you are willing and aren’t willing to do. Personally, I wouldn’t pay to learn how to play Street Fighter, because that IMO is what makes the game fun. However, I certainly WOULD pay 30$ for an oil change, simply because its just easier to do it that way and I just don’t ever seem to have the time to do it. To me, THAT is not fun, but im sure to the guy who loves cars, he’d absolutely fall in love with the idea of changing his own oil and bonding with his vehicle (lol).
**tl;dr **- I think its dependant on a person’s view of the game itself. If he wants to do nothing but be the best, disregarding having fun, then go and apply for a loan and fork over the cash. If he’s got time and committment, hit training mode, watch some videos, play some matches/tournamnets, and level up.
X copy doesnt work in this game
This won’t do much. Nobody can teach you how to do stuff like combos, they can tell you what to do but its up to your dexterity to do it. You’re better off hitting up the 101 tutorials, investing at least 50 hours into one character, and experimenting with knowledge gained from opponents and threads over here. Also, its technically illegal to perform commercial services through XBox Live, hm? Let’s get Justin Wong banned from XBL, lol.
