I’m in my 40’s and I still play. I’ll go to certain tournaments only because it gives me that same satisfaction of those arcade days again. I miss those greatly. (sniff).
Well I’ll be damned and here I was thinking " I am too old for this shit!" Good to know now my wife can back off of me.
Yep, I don’t care about how old I get as long as I can still play video games. My kids are into video games (obviously). Might as well share my interests and activities with them and have even more “family” time and even take the oldest to tournaments as well.
Edit: This thread has gone waaaaay off topic.
This thread went off topic after the first page.

Nowhere near as stupid as THIS post.

Its not a waste of money at all, but rather, another path towards the hopeful future: getting better off than you were.
It kind of reminds me of when I used to play FFXI. There were 2 types of players in that game: the players who worked for everything they got, and the ones who paid for everything they got. While I was running around trying to save up enough funds to buy armor, some kid elsewhere was racking in the dough via gil-buying, and could get any armor he wanted at any time.

I could very well argue that that would be a waste of money, because “You can just work for it yourself”, but in reality, people are lazy these days. There are so many shortcuts to getting ahead in things, its not even funny. But you can’t hate on someone for trying to cut out the possible hours of training work. Time is money, even for the person paying the funds. 40$ might seem like a lot of money, but 40$/hr worth of training could possibly cut out several MORE hours worth of training that you wouldn’t have gotten from doing it yourself.
tl;dr - Theres totally nothing wrong with Doing it Yourself, and theres totally nothing wrong with paying somebody to do it for you.
Real Talk. If I was a Rufus main. I wouldn’t mind paying for J. Wong’s help.
That is if I had the money.
Millions of people pay $75+ and hour for private lessons for piano, violin, flute, etc. Considering the time and effort required of a teacher, it’s a reasonable rate.
