SSF4 Gen Combo Thread

Its not a one frame link sMP is +6 on hit and crane cMP is 5 frame startup so its a two framer, hit the training mode and practice, if you get the crane animation that means you did it too late. gen needs 5 frames to change a stance so you press KKK as soon as you hit the sMP. but why would you want to do that instead of TC2 gekiro?

i think roll give more stun and man i find it hard to stun good i alway thinking save it for super but i man i crap at using my meter i should i use more exhand sweep or mkhand just to get the stun i build way to much meter and it at full in the first round .

If u want to stun with Gen just end ur combos with ex hands into cHP mantis. And also up/down mixups.

This question has probably been asked before, but how do I perform hands properly? I’m a little new to using Gen.

I decided I want to use more the Crane cr.lk, FA, dash, ultra1 combo. It costs two bars but the damage is not bad and I enjoy the idea that Gen can still land his ultra with only two bars. Many opponents tend to play in two phases against Gen: rather freely when Gen has no super and then very defensively when he has it. This combo has a good psychological impact, lol. Besides being rather flashy and easy. Well, let’s say it’s good when you can close a match with it

Why do that when crane cr.lk> mantis u1 is free

its too hard to land bro. and only works for me on large hitbox characters

You actually have so much time to do it you can do it too early and cross under them to miss.

Its just hard to be taken seriously while executing it because you almost mash it to execute it.

Its hard to hit confirm but it works. I suggest using it on a crossup at first.

Cr.lk - ultra 1 works only in corner for me…

works on Rog on midscreen.

Cr.lk ultra only works in the corner, and midscreen only on characters with large hitboxes/floaty fall animation.

Actually it works on Shotos too.

Timing is not lenient at all, but it should work on a whole lot of characters. I can nvr land it against Honda and Blanka tho.

Now cr.LK -> CRANE U1… I think that works on Gief and a few characters only IIRC

I’m talking about raw cr.LK or cr.LK from jump-in btw, not mantis st.MP -> cr.LK link. I believe it could work off of mantis cr.LK xx cr.LP -> crane cr.LK as well, but I’m yet to test this extensively.

Hi Guys. I’m using a Setup for the Mantis-U1 when the opponent is landing from a jump. Just when it starts to land (at the top of the jump) and I’m on the other side of the screen. Almost always the U1 hits. Very useful for shotos who like to jump in.
