SSF4 Gen Arcade Changes

Oga isn’t any different, far as I can tell.

S.mp isn’t any different either. You can’t combo into sweep from non-CH. You can still combo into sweep from Crane c.lk and Ex hands.

It’s too difficult to test out fadc combos in arcade. It’s not execution; it’s building exactly 2 bars without hitting the opponent and then having a picture taken quickly enough to show the meter without hits from the CPU. Not to mention just getting the first hit in without it blocking. To take pictures, I have to ask the next player in line to wait a second while i do the combo and get out my phone. If I fuck up the combo, I have to wait till I win another match. I don’t even wanna think about trying to test it on other players. I won’t be able to mess with FADC combos until I get the cabinet to myself and am able to fight the CPU.

ya man don’t waste your money. Just play the game and notice what you can. Thanks for your hard work.

lol i agree… you’ve already done much more than people were hoping… thank you

its cool, just do what you can. thanks for all the current info though. i’m hyped for ssf ae!

Thanks guys. I was just frustrated because of Seth’s interview and very little information coming from Japan about the changes. I still think the person who did Crane j.hkx2 after Mantis super is full of shit (or was char specific).

Please, if you guys have any other questions (ones I can test), please lemme know. It’s not like I’m gonna stop leveling up now that I covered some ground. Now I can concentrate on getting wins and earning some respect for the elder.

oh yeah, i have a few things you might be able to test.

can you hit the opponent post K.O. like vanilla? if so, it should be possible to stance change before the second round.

any noticable changes to handslaps? i’m hoping for a bigger hit box and nearly instant like in a3 , but thats probably a pipe dream at this point.

Still no late hit after KO. And no, you can’t change stance before 2nd round. You have to do it soon as the round starts.

Hands are pretty much the same. I can’t tell any difference, if there is any. I sometimes use hands on opponents who nj on my wake up if I’m cornered to get the knock back, but this is an old trick.

Hi, would you check to see if the following combos work:

  1. Jump HP, c.lk, c.lp, s.mp, TC, Hands.
  2. Jump HP, s.mp, s.mp, TC, Hands.
  3. Jump HP, c.lk, c.lp, s.mp, TC, Hands, FADC, s.mp, TC, Geikiro.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Gecko

I’m interested in seeing if this works as well.

You can’t do TC after that many hits unfortunately, they will be too far away after the s.mp in those combos, and only the later hit of s.fierce will connect.

i think vanesco said you cant connect TC after sMP, sMP or cLK, cLP, sMP… too much pushback to connect with a full sHP after that, just like now in ssf4

you can do closeMP, TC or cLK, cLP, TC

The changes seem great but I am so irked that with the changes it may not be good enough. After all the whining by Makoto players, she get’s a hefty buff and now is really good now according to some recent vids around. So what did us Gen players get? Yeah some new TC’s that may or may not help with meter gain and maybe some normal move buffs. Aside from that he seems better from what i’ve seen but I don’t know and am nowhere near any arcade that will have it and i’m not paying $1 -$1.50 a game to play it.

I know it’s too early to tell now but right now players are jumping on the bandwagon too early on some of the rumored Characters that are now now top tier. I know give it some time. But we wont see the changes on console anytime soon.

I believe it was when you jump in, he said it connected vs Ibuki while grounded.

EDIT: my apologizes, it was not s.MP, s.MP, it was s.MP, s.HP

S.mp->s.mp->TC will not work because of distance. Trapy is right. Jump in doesn’t hurt B&B so much unless you hit with the furthest part of the hitbox.

ya i realized that

Thanks for recording your fights and sharing the info van. Much appreciated  Just about every single question I had has been answered so far.

It’s nice to see that they attempted to fix Gekiro Issues with the TC’s, I wonder if the TC gives a similar hitbox as the opponents animation after a jump in or FADC. My precision aside, In SSFIV I had a much easier time connecting mantis mp, hp into either hands or gekiro after a jump in or FADC so I wonder if the TC’s have a similar hitbox thing.

And if that’s possible, did they potentially change the scaling of or the damage of the first part of the standing Hp,mk TC? From the images and info I’ve seen/heard that the TC from mp does a lot more damage than I was expecting considering in SSFIV first hit of S.Hp is 70 and the rest is like 30 or something.

Is it just the ability to score an upclose gekiro after 3 meaty hits that made that difference to dmg? Because I was very sceptical of the standing TC damage output consindering that mp, mp, mk, hands in SSFIV was a worse option than mp, hp hands/gekiro due to scaling.

Is it possible to combo from mantis into a crane C.mp~ Hp, Jyasen? and while im on crane does S.Hk work well as a antiair ala C.Hp with Shotos.

Cheers and Keep up the good work!

Moose~

I’m most excited about mantis cr mp, and standing HK changes.

Should really help vs ryu, and theoretically chunli and maybe bison. It will definately hurt Yang’s cr mk into rekka game.

So does standing HK have lower body invincibility? Or did I imagine reading that?

Will it beat chun li’s cr lk/cr hk?

Yay to ground footsies and metre gain buffs!! Woot woot.

LOVING THE NEW CHANGES!!
I better start getting my execution down with the FADC’s combos. This just might be the edge that gen needs? Hopefully…

If that would be true…godlike for footsies.

If anything, this will push Gen up a bit. I don’t really care if he will still be low tier. I already win 85% with him in Super, so the fact he is not getting any nerfs and only buffs is good enough for me.

EDIT: Vanesco, did you notice any damage buffs for normals? I was wondering that since the TC’s seem to do decent damage aswell.

I thought current Crane s.HK had lower body invincibility, during the 2nd kick’s start-up. I doubt they’ll give his mantis s.HK lower body invincibility though.

Can I request a test, whether this combo connects on Ryu?:
Focus crumple -> forward dash -> s.MP -> s.HP

Currently this doesn’t work, so hopefully they reduced s.MP’s pushback so that this’ll connect without a jump-in and without worrying about not working on certain characters. I’m getting tired of memorizing all the character specific setups lol.
