I like doing wierdly spaced j.hk against sims. Instead of their godlike AA knee they end up using their far hk .

Meaty cr. lk will recover before anything can hit you except for EX straight. :frowning:

Amending this post. I’m trying to find a reliable way to keep Balrog from using attacks on his wakeup when he has meter. Meaty cr. lk xx Cross Counter is a good OS for wake up dash straight and upper. It does really good damage when it hits so it should deter him from doing it again. If they do EX headbutt, you will recover before it becomes active and the Cross Counter wont come out. Obviously, I would only use this when he has meter. The problem is if he techs or does nothing you’re screwed. Just doing it once in the beginning though should be enough to scare him into not doing anymore armor punches on his wakeup.

Wakeup EX Headbutt is hella risky. If you’re playing someone who just throws it out there you should win anyway. Honestly just throwing him on his wakeup is a good solution.

…Just found out that Rolling Thunder doesn’t punish Sonic Hurricane for some reason even though it punishes Kikosho.

…I’m confused.

Sonic Hurricane is safer on block than Kikosho.

You can’t do a counter ultra Rolling Thunder through Sonic Hurricane at most ranges amusingly. You need to do a empty duck through it, then Ultra

Would this also work with U2? If your up close you can hit them with U2 and not take dmg but if you stand a bit further away you’ll trade and eat a lot more dmg than guile.

Sonic Hurricane is -5 on block if I remember. You could try ducking uppercut since its a 3 frame start up that way if you have super you can cancel into that. But that’s just something I tried in training mode. But the dummy in this game is not a good way to figure it out. The way I normally do it online or off is to bait it and empty jump. Sonic Hurricane is a great anti air if you are crazy enough to stick something and jump from the wrong distance. But if you know your distance you can empty jump land and then ultra. That normally depends on your opponent and their knowledge of their options as well as your own knowledge. Just my 2 cents up to you if you use it.

Maybe its just online lag, but i seem to get tornado thrown out of everything i try to do to Abel up close.

Hey, I just want to put a correction/update for the character notes on the first page for Guile. acllaim talks about punishing Guile’s crouch roundhouse with a focus attack. I’m pretty sure that was before everyone figured out that Dudley’s level 1 FA into dash is -3 on hit. However, you can blow that move up with almost anything you want after you block the first hit. Easiest is a jet upper since you can just mash it out and get a reversal, but you can even do level 2 FA and crumple Guile. Good Guile’s don’t use the move, but this is a fun way to make scrubs rage quit.

I wish Dudley hit Level 2 FA fast like Cody because it’s a bit on the tight side to block the first kick of crHK and get to Lv2 FA in time to punish.

Actually, that’s not the reason I want to reach Lv2 FA faster, I just really like that Cody hits lv2 FA so quickly.

What do you do against hakan?I am serious.I am more scared of his EX grab on his wake up.It’s ridiculous.I’m more afraid of it that tiger uppercut.At least you can safe jump TU, but this being a grab, you can’t,he’ll catch you.And you know, cant block it.You can bait it by neutral jumping, but he can U2 you, and if you bait it in other ways, it’s hard to get a damaging punisher.And has so much invincibility, it beats meaties.So i just stop pressuring him when he has EX meter?
Also, is it even worth it trying to anti air him?J.hk beats cr.hp and st.mk and st.fierce clean, at best, i get a trade, usually in his favour(if it trades with st.mk).So…?

If he doesnt have ultra 2, from a knockdown, meaty jump in HK, c.LP > LK SSB

You should be throwing Hakan often, especially when he has meter.

If s.mk is ever trading with anything you’re doing it too late.

If Hakan does not have U2 you can bait EX Oil Rocket with a neutral jump.

if he has ultra 2 then just short swing blow alot.
