SSF4 Dudley Match-up Thread

theproblem is that most dudley players spend too much time playing theory fighter and not street fighter.

You talk a lot of shit, for a guy I’ve never heard of.

Played Saqs on xbl with my dudley. He was using Guy. Was raped promptly, any tips on the guy/dudley match?

Don’t stand and OS backdash when he doesn’t have meter full stage. :slight_smile:

All Horizontal Balls are punishable on hit and block by U1.

Was this mashed electricity? Because a lot of the time people think they’re beating out electricity when they’re actually just punishing recovery from it because the opponent stopped mashing.

Mashed but I had electricity going the whole 10 recording seconds of recording and tried it out many, many times. If I had not, you would see jHK in there listed. I stood as close as I could to the electricity without getting hit and pushed a button and backed up until Dudley’s moves stopped losing or trading with it to the range where it Dudley flat out beat it.

If guy comes at you with an elbow, be on the lookout, because 9 times out of 10 you can c.hk it free. Break your downback. Guy cannot dish out 200 dmg throws if your crouching. Also his overhead options are pretty poor compared to the damage if you were standing. If he doesn’t have meter, activate guess mix-up upon his wake up. Do not do lp mgb if they have U2.

In the blanka matchup at the start of the thread it states that you can just Ultra 1 punish a blocked blanka ball. I tried this last night and it’s not true, the ultra doesn’t travel far enough forwards to catch it. Is a dash/lk duck required first?

It does punish it, it has to be later than reversal timing.

Hey, I have a question that may be something to add to the easy access list on the first page. Can you punish a blocked condor dive with ex mgb? It seems like a prime candidate to punish, but I have either whiffed or had it blocked. Also, does Dudley have any jump-in that can beat Sim’s AA knee?

I know EX MGB can punish blocked condor dives but its extremely strict timing, not worth the risk

Condor Dive:

U1 punishes blocked Condor Dive. Nothing questionable: No passing under or getting blocked unless done obviously too late and you can do U1 really late and still hit it because U1 movement is exactly in front of T. Hawk.

EX MGB - I can’t seem to time it right, I’m passing under him doing it too early or he’s blocking. If it’s possible, seems rather difficult to time.

In my testing, I found out Dudley can punish blocked Condor Dive with MK Duck Upper and Straight. LK and HK can too but LK upper hit for one hit once and HK duck straight was blocked a few times depending on how Hawk bounced off.

MP and HP MGB punished as well, HP MGB trickier to land can go under Hawk if done too soon, get blocked if done too late. MP nothing questionable happened for me.

If Dudley blocks a Condor Dive high on his body, by his head high, you can dash up sHK xx whatever or dash up HP JU. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL. Timing the dash right out of hit stun and the move to execute right out of dash makes this really easy to screw up.

What am I supposed to be doing on Balrog’s wakeup? cr.HK beats non EX headbutts but not EX dashes. Cross counter beats both but is hella risky.

Throw beats EX rush punch.

Yeah but not headbutt, and it’s just not worth the risk to take one of those.

Applying pressure on wakeup is always a risk.

Isnt c.lk on balrogs wakeup the best option?

cr. LK stuffs headbutt, but if they have meter, learn how they use it on wakeup (i.e. EX moves or just saves for later)
