if you block the first mixup and youre not cornered you should be ok. backdashing is your friend, but be careful not to jump, canon spike damage boosts if your hit at the apex of your jump.

So Mr.X just talked about using St. MP to beat walldives in the Marn thread and I was wondering if you could use st. MK as well. It has some surprising anti-crossup ability.

Never ever backdash against Cammy on wakeup. You’ll get Cannon Strike’d anyway.

I think he meant after you block the obligatory Oki cannon strike.

Yeah, I figured, but you know everyone wouldn’t take it that way. Also if she does frame trap CS it will catch the backdash anyway if she’s trying to catch a throw tech. Remember, Dudley’s backdash is not that great.

I delay the backdash a split second after the cannon strike. That way if she tries to tick, you block and backdash after blockstun.

An option that would be better is :lk: + :lp: + :mp: + :mk:, :l::l:. If she tries to throw you, you tech it. If she does a cs you focus absorb it and backdash.

Jump back lk, crouching hp, standing mk, neutral jump hp, empty duck and MGB can all get you out of the wall dive. You just have to adjust your options based off of whether you get crossed up or not.

st. MK and down+Taunt are the best for hitting Vega out of wall dives

st MK works very well against vega’s wall dives.
jump attaks may not be very safe anyway.

Thanks for the wall dive tips chaps - I had my biscuits eaten by a wall diving Vega last night & I was crying out for a solution.

Some of you wrote that U1 is the better choice.
I think U2 is much better because you can punish a blocked tornado, wrong spaced dive-kicks…

How are you punishing a 0 on block move and dive kick with virtually no recovery on landing.

Normal Galactic Tornado is -1, EX is -2. cr.lp is completely safe against Rufus after blocked tornado up close unless he does U1; U2 or EX Messiah are too slow.

And yeah, you can’t punish dive kick except right as he’s landing. He doesn’t have tripguard but it has no special recovery.

Lag magic or the Rufus players he’s been playing throw out moves after the tornadoes. It’s pretty impressive if you’re punishing poorly spaced dive kicks because that requires pretty good reactions if you’re not buffering it for every jump in.

Or by poorly spaced, you mean really poorly spaced.

Is it just me or does j.HK work pretty good against Rose? I was playing some random Rose player on ranked and he would try to keep me out but If i spaced it right and I j.HK it would sometimes beat her clean or trade, unless she did an anti air c.HP.

The problem is that most good rose players anti air with c.hp.
