f.mk also has 2 active frames so there’s a hidden frame of recovery.
You’re saying that it’s -1 on block? Interesting.
No, it’s +1 on block dash cancelled.
Oh, alright. Man, that is an excellent move for closing distance.
Random Tip:
When Adon is at mid-range [like that range when you block a jaguar kick or very close] s.hk is a very good poke. It worked extremely well in a few matches against an adon player I know. I decided to check some of his options, and it faster than all of his normals at that range, except the light ones, but those won’t reach you. It will also beat his s.hk every time.
I really havent played against good gens so don’t really know matchup well, any strats on this matchup so i don’t get blown up when I randomly bump into one?
If Gen whiffs his Gekiri (that upkick where he can hit you 6-8 times) they like to do on wakeup, don’t wait for him to land to punish him, he can throw a 2nd kick out to alter his landing on whiff. Just hit his ass out the air so you can avoid waiting to see when he will land.
Just fight him like you would anyone else and be mindful of when they like to throw out the Gekiri thing because it does have invincibility now and randoms throw it out after blocked rolls and wall dive kicks.
I like to punish it with jet upper juggles because it’s guaranteed and simple.
Maybe cr.hk can be used for a surefire punish?
who is this gen character you speak of??? you must mean ken XD
My friend plays a pretty good Gen and beats me on a regular basis. It’s funny how most character forums have very little or no matchup info on him. If you actually manage to get decent with Gen, it’s hard for a lot of people to stop you since they’ll be scratching their heads.
Need help against Guy. I’m talking a good one, not one that throws out random specials and generally plays like a bad El Fuerte.
One who will zone you out with his standing and crouching forward, standing and crouching strong, anti-air you with standing roundhouse and generally be extremely hard to set up, right until he gets a knock down on you. After that, it’s 100% frame traps until K.O.
Mashing 3 frame jab doesn’t work because you get CH’d into huge damage and put into the corner, so only EX JU guesses work against his frame traps. Guess wrong and you’re getting punished and probably stunned.
Oh, and his backdash might as well be a teleport for how far it goes. cr.lk~cr.mk cr.mk wakeup option select misses his backdash by a mile.
If you know he’s gonna backdash, forward fierce him. Do it twice because that’s how long it usually takes them to realize you’re punishing them.
Taking 130 damage and getting pushed out of danger is probably preferable to dealing with Dudley’s wakeup pressure.
Maybe, but he can only do that about 4 times before he’s going to lose a match. Also, you can option select liver blow into ultra2 if you want.
You mean I need to guess right about his back dash 4 (I’d say 5-6, if I’m not able to land significant damage otherwise) times for him to lose the match, which is much better than guessing wrong twice on his wakeup. His fucking back dash neuters my options. It’s retarded. It’s not only useful on wakeup, either.
Yeah OS U2 works but that’s the thing, it requires ultra. I’m going to have to get hit a lot before I can use it, and if I’m taking damage it probably means the flow of the match is in Guy’s favour, by which point he’s built meter, he’s pushed me dangerously close to the corner and he’s got me in frame trap hell.
There is NO WAY this match-up is 5-5. His footsies are at LEAST as good as Dudley’s (gross understatement), his air priority is nuts, and his rushdown is completely unbeatable outside of EX JU, which is just about the most horizontally stunted invulnerable uppercut in the game, and therefore extremely easy to bait and avoid.
you can OS backdashes with cr HK as well.
I am not aware of this OS. I shall try to find it.
I believe Golden Gunman posted a video of this. It’s beats backdashes that go too far for cr. MK to hit.
does cr. HK OS work on chun and rose backdashes or is that too far?
not sure. check it out training.
