SSF4 Complete Guile Punishment Listing

I remember someone (GeoM?) doing a video where you can punish Ibuki in between her kick thingies with FK/Super/U2.

Interesting… just watched that MoD video… Apparently you CAN block blanka ball low and EX sonic boom. His ball seems really inconsistent sometimes. I think Viscant has said as much before.

Guile can punish honda’s HP headbutt with U2. All other headbutts are unpunishable.

Also, annotate that only lk or mk super will punish rog’s dash punch, unless they changed the startup on guile’s hk super.

I hesitate to say even this lest I offend you, since I revere you as a god, but I dont agree with this. The first post of that thread (which doesnt even have any Super characters) is full of a lot of strategy and some notes on punishment, but its a far, far cry from a one-stop shop for people simply looking for a straight-up punishment list for their opponents 3-5 special moves.

I mean, for example, from that thread:

That doesnt tell you anything about punishing her specials. I’m not trying to make more work, trust me. It just seems that there is such a wealth of information here in the forum, but its all scattered across old, non-updated posts and hundreds of pages. I just want to consolidate it to ONE clean post.

Well, you can always use the character matchup thread if you like it, but this idea is very convenient, good job Skkra.

Hey, how do you pull off a standing fierce to flash kick? I could only pull off crouching attacks to flash kick because Im charging downwards. Thanks.

i would actually like to know if there are any shortcut motions for the ultras.

im curious about that because i know there is a shortcut motion for srks.

and if what can be FADC’D? into ultra? or combo?

Everyone else, great stuff, keep it coming. I did some testing last night, I’ll do more tonight and update.

@Skkra, I will test all characters special moves that aren’t obvious how to punish, for example Ryu’s shoryuken, everyone knows how to punish that, but I will go through characters ultras and special moves and will list the best punishes. I will do that tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue:

Posting these as I’m findin’ um.

-Ken f.mk from 3/4 it’s max range in can be punished by lk super. (old sauce, but it still works)
-Juri lk pinwheel flashkick and s.hp punishable, although it’s hard to time the s.hp. All other pinwheels Ultra punishable, including EX.

The MK Tsumuji (i.e., the Spinning Kicks) is safe at 0 on block. The other two are -4 if I remember correctly. The overhead special move is even punishable on hit by a Sonic Hurricane (regardless of a Kunai) if Guile is within the proper range. d/f+MK (i.e., slide) is punishable via cr.LP -> SB / FK or Super Combo. It becomes entirely safe when spaced correctly.

It isn’t hard to find out how to punish it if she doesn’t throw a kunai. I will only post specials that are hard to find out in which way you can punish it. It’s useless to write how to punish Ryu’s U2 for example.

Dudley EX MGB is U2 punishable
Dudley LP MGB is LK super punishable
All other MGB’s flashkick punishable
All of his ducking > uppers can be punished by flashkick, quick normals, and super.

Also, random thought in reference to that double-air-kick special thing that ibuki has…

If she has super, couldn’t she bounce off you, watch you let U2 rip, then just super your face? Probs something to keep in mind.
