ElectricBalls has decided to hand over the combo thread for me to run! I am glad that I can help and continue this nice list that he has going. This thread will probably be pretty dry until SSF4 comes out, then the fun will begin.

(All of the links are not applicable in a match situation but this chart is great for seeing if the frames are tight,
or if your timing with that link is just bad)

**Combo Notes:

  • Jumping HK always does more dmg in a combo than any other jump in. (this is why in the future i will only post crossup MK jump-ins and HK jump-ins)
  • Ending a combo in electricity will always do more damage then if you ended it with any blanka ball.(Except in FA crumple combos)
  • Horizontal Ball does the same damage as Upball
  • EX electricity is more damaging than HP electricty…
    but EX upball does the same damage as HP upball…(i will only list HP up ball numbers from now on)
    and EX horizontal ball actually does less damage then HP horizontal ball! (this is why i will only list HP ball damage dumbers from now on)
  • I will only list the L Electricty and EX Electricity versions in the future(unless its a Super combo since you cant burn EX and still use a Super)
    because the numbers rise incrementally and you can figure out the others based off the ones listed.**

When doing a combo, make sure the training dummy is at 100% health because it glitches sometimes when not and gives bogus numbers.
Please only send true combos that show up on the combo display.

i’ve been sitting on these for a while and have been meaning to put up a vid but can’t be bothered to do it so i’m posting them instead:

You can cancel the landing frames of a jumping attack with up/back.mp (which come out as his neutral st.mp) allowing you to 2 frame link to ultra. Only works off jumping attacks as far as i know so you can’t fadc and do it unfortunately.

How often can you actually get Lvl. 3 Crumple; is the time it takes to charge for Lvl. 3 shorter than the rest of the cast?

no its always a lvl1 counter hit or level 2 clean hit crumple. sagat has the fasted level 3 charge time i think.

I remember practicing these for ages but I could never pull it off because of the spacing. For s.mp c.mk Ultra, I get the timing right, but the characters always seem to get pushed back to outside the range of the ground pound. Same thing with the cancel into super. Is it character/location specific or can you do it anytime and anywhere?

In that case, wouldn’t it be best to post the values for combos involving FA Crumble using Lvl. 2 instead of 3?
I find that Lvl. 2 crumples are usually more common than Lvl. 3 ones.

The j.hk s.mp c.mk mysteriously whiffs sometimes against Zangief, but I think that’s a known glitch. The full combo into Ultra works though, but only against crouching fat chars (maybe against all crouching chars - only test Gief). 610 damage.

is a 10 (TEN!!!) hit combo! can also be done as a cross up with jMK but im not sure!

very hard to do (2 one-frame-links) and doesnt do a lot of damage but it is impressive if you can pull it off in a match!
even if it gets blocked, one of the Jabs often hit the enemy surprisingly and lets him eat the super!

after focus attack you DONT NEED to dash for the super!!!
just use L Super and it hits 100%! there is a HUGE frame window for the link!

But you WANT to dash after every focus attack, because if it gets blocked and you don’t dash, you’re fucked.

Not a glitch at all. As your life decreases your ability to resist damage increases.

Tested this against Gief today. Far S. MP -> Ultra is 560 damage. I got the J. RH, Far S. MP, Ultra working too but I didn’t test it with attack data on. (But I saw 6hits)

Can anyone explain (or better yet put up a video) of the jumping roundhouse into st.MP into Ultra?

Using Mullah’s method of holding up back for the st.MP always causes Blanka to jump backwards :frowning:

You need to press it a little earlier than you think to cancel frames. Here is a video cilip anyway.

Also, I tend to piano elec ending with light punch (in effect I do the reverse of what the Mullah does, HP-MP-LP-LP-LP). Is there any benefit to ending it with HP instead?

HP electricity does more damage and gives +10 frames on lock instead of +5 on block for LP electricity.

How do you utilize this in combos then? I do c.mk + lp~hp~mp~lp~hp for medium kick into electricity. If I do it starting with HP, then I don’t get the c.mk.

Well, tbh I haven’t tried it with c.mk.

BUT,

If I FA, and then dash cancel and do the piano, it always comes out as LP into Elec. (Same happens if do straight up dash).

Also, if I cross up with j.MK and use my method, the combo that comes out is, j.MK, st.LP, Elec.

I’m guessing if you want to do c.MK straight into elec, you need to start piano-ing the elec as soon as you hit MK. Again I haven’t tried, but you might end up with MK, LP, Elec combo.

Generally though, using my method I get LP into Elec combo.
