SSF4 Arcade Edition 2012 complete Gouken

Any tips about special canceling far st.Mp to palm? Most of the time I end up getting an overhead because of the f+mp input, and if I delay it most of the time the special didn’t come out.

About the st.Hp, I actually never used it before, but I’m even using it as a pretty solid AA! It doesn’t even trade!

Best advice is touse negative edge.

Damn dude I’m talking about far st. mp LOL

I’m quoting you !

Just loaded up the game today. A few things I’ve notcied

  • OS’ing denjin either meaty or from standard demonflip setups will punish pretty much all backdashes. Was able to punish makoto, rose and chun li easily

  • Meaty far st.hp gives some serious advantage. Was able to combo far st.hp > sweep or far st.hp > far st.hk or anything 8 frames or less with some reach. Might be able to combo cr.lk into tatsu on some characters depending on distance

  • Can combo from meaty overhead but looks like that’s been covered already. Safest i’ve found is just jab into lp.palm and you can fadc denjin on some characters midscreen or corner.

  • combowise i’ve been able to do j.hk, cl.mp, cl.mp, far st.mp, mp palm, fadc denjin midscreen against the taller characters and a lot of silly combos in the corner which put a smile on my face.

Overall I’m enjoying all the changes so far.

If you want to work on doing s.mp to mp.palm, try doing Sakura’s c.mk, HP Shouken. It uses the same timing.

Difference is in the sakura combo you can hold down forward. You have to be neutral for the st.mp to palm combo which is where I mess up.

I’ve playing today for less than an hour, I’m not exactly a master but I’ve trying things…

On palms: No doubt this is the best set of palms, low connects from low normals, medium is a great trap and high is still good enough for those who want some damage after an EX palm but don’t want to take risks with and dash > tatsu when there’s no ultra juice…

On Kongo: someone here noticed any difference?

Normals: Close st HK is really improved, and far st MP is my new best friend (Yes, now we can poke).

Super: Still trying to adapt to the new speed, most of the time I release it too early  It’s interesting to see how the willing to save super bars are changing my behavior on fight…

Denjin: I really don’t know about you guys but my fightstick does not have too much lifetime with this new denjin.
I don’t know if my execution is so crappy… but I found really hard do reach max speed, most of the times I releases lvl 2.
I switched do Xbox gamepad, and found easyer as you can twist both analogical AND digital controls at the same time.

As someone has said, people still do not know how to deal with different denjin speeds… I had landed 2 fully charged from fullscreen in less than an hour!

It’s not as bad as you think, try doing Forward + MP, then finish the DP motion, it works pretty well using the standard input or the shortcut motion.

Forward + MP produces the overhead.

Use the s.mp animation and buffer the shortcut input, it works. Trust me.

Is it just me or did the old man get a stealth speed boost? It’s not that noticeable but I somehow think he’s that bit faster. In terms of overall speed.

Im having the SAME problems and its getting on my nerves real quick

Beside cleaning up your input (no smashing) unfortunately, there are simply no fix to this problem.

I tried switching st.mp for cr.mp and it worked well for me. You have to be closer for the palm to connect, but it came out way more consistently. As it is a easy link, I was hit confirming with:
jump in > cl.mp > cr.mp xx tatsu.

I’ve found that one of the best ways to improve muscle memory is to just have your Stick/controller in hand while you are just watching TV around the house and doing the inputs slowly until you get the muscle memory programmed and then work on the speed after that.

Another way is just doing st. mp and then buffering your hado input without hitting the button over and over again so you can make sure you have the motion part of the execution, then just add lp and it should work a bit better for you.

Regarding super and denjin sweetness: I fucking told you guys!

Has anyone seen this yet?. Infiltration actually lands a Denjin into Kinite Shoryken against Ryan Hart.

When exactly do you start spinning the stick for faster u2. I’ve seen people still release what looks like instantly. Can you just spin during the flash animation?

You do it during the cinematic.
