When facing a smart enough player, you can’t spamming teleport like a pig or it will be light off for you. Even in G2 they can bait it and punish it with something.

Only a handful of chars are punishing a mid screen backwards tele with sweep.

Akuma is one of the “sweetspot” characters. He really, really doesn’t need anything.

Maybe change his super (but even them, some players will miss the reduced startup, compared to the ultra).

Akuma has the most complete tool set out of any character in the game, bar none. He needs nothing.

for real. even before the vortex came out in america he was a great character.

Agree. However even Sagat will be buffed, so why Akuma shouldn’t be buffed too ?

I hope they give him at least one more tool too make this gameplay more expeditive.

As an only Akuma player I’m agree with Emblem Lord about the teleport.
But if you lower his defense, boost his offensive game.

Remember about the " Kill quickly or die instead " gameplay in third strike ? I want that back. It’s pretty the same in IV but it doesn’t feel the same…

Akuma’s game is very much high damage output and intake. He needs NOTHING. If anything, just nerf/fix his focus so the hitbox ends at his hand and not a foot in front of it.

He doesn’t need it.

I said i was agree with this, but Akuma WILL have something new ( like every character of this fucking game in SSFIV ), that’s a fact.
We don’t care wether he needs it or no, Akuma will be buffed.
So it’s normal to think about what the designer of SSF4 will add to Gouki’s Gplay no ?

If anything, the 2nd hit should whiff on everyone when they crouch except people with the biggest possible hitboxes (I’m talking Gief/Hawk, etc). Getting near these characters is risky, so it’s fine if you want to force them to block this while crouching. Otherwise, Akuma’s footsies are already so good, he doesn’t need another normal that’s safe on block and easily confirmable into huge combos which result in untechable knockdown. For one, it shouldn’t hit Abel when crouching. That sucks. :sweat:

Otherwise I don’t mind the move. Even the loop on bigger characters.

If an Akuma’s player has decide to zone properly, you won’t touch them.

But first, is not as simple and two, one combo + an Ultra from Abel, and Akuma fells down like shit.

same for gief. i played one and he had only 20% of his life and i had 100% then i made a mistake and get a few hits and an ultra. now i had to attack because he had more life than me. but if you take akumas teleport away or tweak it he has no chances against many player only if you’re a perfect akuma player.

No one is saying take the teleport away FFS but teleport NEEDS a tweek, no one should have a get out of jail card free against anyone, Akuma has enough tools to keep players out without relying on “easy mode” :sweat:

I’m not a bitch, I play the 3-7 matchup, if i was a bitch I’d give up & main easy mode Akuma, Sagat or Ryu. I think the teleport needs a slight tweek for the reasons i stated it doesn’t need to be that safe against most of the cast with the other tools Akuma has for keeping people away. If You genuinely think Akuma’s teleport is fine then state Your reasoning, if You’re just looking to have a pop then Whatever :confused:

Akuma’s teleport is fine because it functions the same as every other teleport in the game.

If you would tweak it how would you tweak it without making it useless? if it’s not invulnerable on startup then it serves no purpose. It has plenty of frames of recovery to punish random teleports. All I’m saying it any teleport complaints for any character are stupid since the move isn’t broken. Just because akuma can teleport away from Abel doesn’t mean the teleport is broken. it just means abel needs more options on how to get in.

Think about this. If akuma’s teleport wasn’t invuln on start up(which is the same as every other teleport in the game) then once you got a knockdown with on him it’d be free, combine that with his low life bar and it’d be stupid.

Akuma’s teleport doesn’t function the same as every other teleport, it’s the best teleport by an absolute mile. No one mentioned making Akuma’s teleport vulnerable on startup, I agree that would be retarded, I was suggesting a couple of extra frames on recovery which would give a lot of characters “a chance” to punish it if they read that it was coming…just a chance, I don’t think that’s asking for a lot. The only other way to do it would be to tweek every character to deal with this issue which is much more likely to have a negative affect on the overall balance than adding a couple of frames to the recovery
