Hmmm… I’ve never been caught be it myself, but I see what you’re saying: just checked the frame data and his LP/HP SRK has 3 frames of startup so the timing has to be damn near perfect which doesn’t happen often, especially not online or your opponent just didn’t time his reversal correctly. However, his MP or EX SRK has 4, so that would be possible, yes?

I know, which is weird because I know you can stuff reversal DPs on wakeup with a dive kick:

After forward throw x 2 dashes I’m pretty sure you can’t safe jump any of Ken’s SRKs, slowest he has is 4 frames and that’s fast enough, 3 frame SRKs as far as I know are impossible to safejump normally, i.e without taking advantage of a jump in attack with a specific vulnerable hitbox that will avoid the SRK’s active hitbox.

You can however after forward throw x 2 dashes do an empty jump, you’ll land in time to block all of Ken’s SRKs except lp SRK, guess even though the HP SRK has 3 frames startup but the active hitbox doesn’t connect until you’re ready to block.

Long answer: He wants you to try and punish his normal?s because he knows that you can?t 99.999999% of the time, once you are out of his range there isn?t much he can do, if you see him try to roll at you, you can stuff the dog shit out of it (cr.mp, shoryu etc). Try to avoid hados too, if you do use them REALLY sparingly. He can ex izuna through projectiles on reaction and you?ll eat really nasty damage (not to mention his ultra 1 and 2 can both hit you out of your recovery). You can demon his wall dives really easy just do Cr.mk auto correct demon

You just gotta lame him out until you get your first knock down, then you just rush his ass down (vortex) isn?t all this information available in the first post?

Also don?t spam sweep/fish for sweep against Vega, he can punish you on recovery (cr.mp, ex izuna, izuna grab) it hurts allot!

You can NOT do f.throw > dash x2 > j.mk on ken. Any of his srk will catch you 100% of the time. Doing an empty jump instead of j.mk will make you land in time to block

Ok. So if I was able to stick an MK out and block in time, it must then mean that my opponent was poorly timing his DP on wakeup. Makes more sense! LOL

He could have been purposely trying to delay the SRK (i.e doesn’t want it to come out as a reversal) so it would auto correct and beat an anticipated x-up tatsu, I’ve eaten a couple of delayed SRK FADC Ultra from a Ryu player when I became predictable with cross up tatsus.

Does this work on any other chars?

emtpy jumping after f.throw dash x 2 is safe against all characters that don’t have a 0 or 1 frame ultra or reversal…for example zangief, hawk, guy and a few others…

Doing f.throw dash x2 j.hk safe jumps 5+ frame reversals/ultras…for example chun’s ex sbk, balrogs headbutt, dictator’s ex PC etc etc

Yeah, I know those safe jump setups but I’m talking about the d.mk dive kick one. Does holding up immediately after a sweep and then d.mk dive kick work on other characters?

I’m pretty sure it isn’t safe vs 3 frame SRKs as well(except Ken’s HP SRK).

i tried testing it out earlier, it worked on rog, chun and sagat… so seems like it’ll work on everyone with a 5+ frame reversal (minus deejay and adon D:<). pretty gdlk

I tested on honda, bison, sagat and chun and it works…should safejump all 5+ frame reversals.

Yeah, this is pretty godly and easy to do. Thanks for the tip, I’m going to start using it a lot now :smiley:

how many of you have the capabilities of pulling those safejump at high success rate?

i somehow is extremely good against sagat,chunli,rufus,dictator.

but when i go against feilong/rose…something is just not right…i can’t get it down correctly. its like i always miss out 1-2 critical frame and their retarded srk beats me.

knowing how to do or capable of doing it in tutorial is all pointless when in actual match.especially against better opponent or tough matchup it kept messing up. precision matters.

tbh, i see alot of vids of people using other alternative instead of safejumping more than not. apart from tokido who is damn precise at those things.
