lol i wish it was that easy for me
Talking about Seth⦠I just remembered something. I was playing my friend and he was just doodling around with Seth against me. So we all know that fireballs are punishable by Sethās Ultra I. I decided to test this in the match and apparently if you FADC your fireball and dash at the perfect time when Seth activates his ultra, you can dash through the tandem blast, and itāll make his ultra completely whiff. Just a fun fact. Iāll try to get a recording next time, but just food for thought the Seth matchup.
i have a weird issue, seemingly very obvious trouble especially against
ryu,chunli,cammy.
I always lose focus attack war against them.
before i have demon. if i do c.hk they will focus and do havoc such as focus dash in grab, or focus crumple stun, or just hit. its annoying.
when i decide to focus against their focus i usually end up losing 70% of the time.
anyone have this feeling as well?
im feeling that c.mk fireball doesnt work. few times it helps few times i get hit for ch. maybe its because my c.mk ball is poorly spaced maybe i should have just stick out c.mk?
basically i am getting this irritating feeling that opponent disregard footsies and tries to use focus attack to get in and me and its working for them.
any advice as how to deal with these situation?
please donāt suggest sweep into demon. I want to know pre-demon situation. once i got demon they got scared to play focus attack.
Cr mp buffer dp might work, so the dp only comes out if the cr mp releases. Of course st hk always good too, walk up kara throw another way. Demon flip throw/palm could maybe work too. Hk/ex tatsu another way. Teleport/jump tatsu away is another. Akuma has quite a few options.
im saying they are doing their focus at the tip range. very disturbing position.
cr.mp buffer dpā¦how is this range ever happening at the 1st place?
st.hk against chun/ryu/cammy can be death. they crouch into their bnb punishes.
demon flip/palm is no go at that situation. very risky, i do not want to jump if ever possible.
i think we arenāt really talking about the same situation are we?
your few options are reallyā¦not good options.
you sure you get what position or scenario im saying?
I hate to ask since itās such a stupid question. but
vs ryu. srsly⦠tips? is ryu really meant to be so fucking painful?
there is no tips vs ryu. The better shoto wins. It is definitly a tough match. You just have to out shoto them.
Can anyone give me the Rundown on Demon Flip Options against Balrog wake up, I need to know what beats what on both sides of the matchup, thanks in advance.
On the cammy matchup:
When locked down under heavy dive kick pressure, as soon as she jumps, jump back fierce!
try to keep her away, use normals if u1 is charged up.
Use x-up tatsu, if you time it right it beats dp.
Another option is safe jump.
You can try and play footsies but watch out for cannon drill or whatever its called.
Edit:
Please update first post, its a real bitch trying to find good information in this thread.
Demon flip palm strike beats everything Rog does. If he back dashes you just sweep.

This wouldnt work against good Rogās three times in a row, but on Rogās wake up (and Goukenās for that matter) DF Palm can be great. It stops him from using Ex Upper to escape pressure, and if he blocks you are safe. Outside of that, Im not sure how it pans out if he does a TAP or backdash (OS sweep the backdash?)
EDIT - I got beat but good to know it beats everything and you can sweep the backdash.
Yeah Shin pretty much said it. DF palm is your best friend. Breaks all EX rushes out, safe jumps headbutts, and you can sweep on reaction or OS the sweep late to catch backdashes. I also know that DF throw beats all dash and ex punches, but it loses to HB.
Awesome info guys, Iāll be putting this to use later tonight, you can catch my Akuma gameplay sometime tonight on the SoVA stream, you can probably find it on the front page, critique me if you happen to see anything, thanks again.
Quick question: best way to counter Vegaās walldive Izuna super? Iām guessing air-FB or J. FP? How strict is the timing on both, as in must it be done last-second?
^^ Teleport
Especially if he walldives with you in the corner, teleport the fuck out. Iāve tried to space myself to make the Izunas whiff so I could punish but I end up getting thrown everytime. Then again Im pretty terrible at this game so Im sure someone else can figure out a better option than teleporting away all the time
hey guys, can i get some tips against DJ?
it seems i canāt DF dive kick his flash kick, it trades unless im timing it wrong.
when i knocked him down and tried cross up tatsu, it wasnt working against his flash kick either?? i tried it many times too.
does DF palm beat any of his wakeup options?
thanks.
You basically canāt jump in at all on DJ when he has Ex, at least I havent found a way to. Unless you are playing a bad DJ and jump WAY before he gets up and heās still stupid enough to do Ex Kicks and you bait it out.
But I feel your pain. I really donāt have an answer for anything DJ does because Im so unfamiliar with the matchup
Try baiting his wake-up AA, the recovery on it is good enough to punish. I donāt think a safe DF palm would work either, will try it in training mode. In general I like to use the Palm to punish his fireballs, tick setups also work well. Your best bet is to engage in a fireball war until he loses charge, and he doesnāt have good options for advancing and keeping charge at the same time (in HDR he has the slide, I tried it here and it doesnāt work well at all). Once he loses charge then go nuts.
