Sick. Neutral jumping in the corner is BANNED. If you neutral jump on their wakeup and they neutral jump, ultra 2 + hold forward GGS
still getting raped by bison standing hard kick

Anyone fought a good sagat yet so far I’ve only fought one and he looked like he got the game for the first time.

Most Sagat’s that I have played online have done this.
Oh how I have done this to too many Oni’s today. Everybody pick U2 versus Oni. All what they love to do is spam their shit. Although I lost to one who just kept on spamming an overhead kick. I was one pixel away from beating him also.
What happened to all the panic?
Week 1 lol wait a month jk

LOL. “Day1” shenanigans on XBL gauges a character for the long haul.
/troll post
Akuma still feels impossible to win at high level, but nothing we didn´t know already. I need to fight dhalsim and sagat now. Other than that I feel zangief is ok because of the sole reason he can have a potential (minimal) advantage over twins. It´s still or even more hard to win akuma or sagat and feilong also beats him, ken is 5-5 in AE imo. But having a chance against 2 of the best 3 chars in the game it´s cool I guess.
let’s see how vangief did in AE.
Oh Shit, Vangief lost a match, that means gief is shit and the matchup is fucked.
the problem is not vangief lost a match
the problem is you cannot find any video of top zangief player doing well against good opponent in AE.
I’ve been saying this for months that Juri is one of Giefs most under appreciated bad MU’s. Just not many good players pick her up.
With that said tho, its one measly online match AND… Aqua/WGE would say… “Why didn’t he use U2”. LOL
U2 is why players seem to be fearing Gief now more than anything I think.
To be fair, that vid doesn’t really have anything to do with ae gief. Other than the one ex.gh at the start of the 2nd round the rest of the match was just Vance getting his ass kicked by a good Juri. I think this mu is is gonna be terrible now without the kd but time will tell.
Juri is seldom seen at high level aside from Neo, Ed Ma and J Rose here in the states so not everyone know there tricks plus those three Juri’s play a whole different style Neo being rush down for example while Ed Ma is more frame traps with the fireball.

Time will tell
Anyone faced a good Twin player yet.

juri’s not that bad. I can hang in there vs neo and if he’s one of the best then that matchups not that bad because I’m not that good. Vangief guessed wrong a bunch in that match but who gives a shit it’s online.
I do
Edit: I remember reading supposedly there were changes to his jump has anyone verified this?

Fought a decent Yun at Monster’s. I don’t have anything to report that hasn’t been said before other than I got EX command grabbed outta U1.
I put in the work with gief (Got to top 10 on XBL so I feel accomplished for the day lol).
After hating it and getting used to the EX-GH knock back timing, Gief honestly feels more powerful than his super counter-part. To use him to his full potential in AE you need to know your Kara-EXGH and option-select pokes damn well.
Quick thoughts:
Yun can out-footsie you and zone you out quite well. His palm-strike/feints and forward fierce give gief a bad day. If you can read him relatively well you can ex-gh the forward fierce on reaction and try continue a mixup. A turtle yun is the bane of my existence. It’s a battle of patients and wits. You’ll almost never see Yun try a rush down except after an EX-Dash punch.
The Ryu matchup is significantly easier. Mainly the air-tatsu out of the corner being gone. Once you corner Ryu he’s practically toast. Just however right outside of max range crouching roundhouse and standing strong him all day (buffer the jab SPD inside of that for more evil trickery)
Non-ex Blanka balls can be punished on block with Kara-EXGH now.
Guile is still f***ing difficult. What’s new?
Adon is being underused online IMO. His normals are god-like. His fuzzy guard shenanigans are even more brutal now. It’s hard to react to EX-Jaguar tooth since the flash doesn’t happen till it hits the wall.
The new siberian blizzard does not catch Claw’s backflip. FML. (We can dream)
Matchup ratings so far.
(left being in favor of)
7-3. Dhalsim. Even with a little less damage on a few things, it’s still a bastard match. Wake up out-of-range yoga blast is now even better (with a faster start up) And no blizzard does not catch stretchy limbs this time around =/
6-4. Fei Long. (his corner game is just brutal).
6-4. Yun. His keep-away game is difficult to deal with along side incredible meter building. A good Yun wouldn’t even have to use a single up-kick.
6-4. Seth. Much easier, but his keep away game is also incredibly good (not to mention his health boost). (dropped from 7-3)
6-4. Claw. The crouching forward buff makes it spammable and great for zoning gief out. (Not that his crouching strong was annoying enough lol)
6-4. Akuma. Still a very strong keep away character, but the air-tatsu nerf makes this matchup FAR more balanced. (dropped from 7-3)
6-4. Sagat. Just as good in Super, but with more damage. The trade off is the heavier recovery time on high tigershots. Add in the controllable Blizzard and this matchup has gotten definitely better. The extra SPD range helps significantly in the corner game. (down from 7-3)
6-4. T. Hawk. The block-stun addition to standing roundhouse makes his footsie game superior and difficult to punish. That move alone knocks this up from a 5-5
6-4. Chun. Plays the exact same. Still a tough matchup.
6-4 Adon. As I stated above, he’s great at annoying you and hard to predict. Matchup stays the same as super.
6-4 Viper. Still owns. Nothing changed.
5-5 Honda. That damage nerf makes the match much easier to deal with since you’re not getting snagged with 20% life head-butts. (down from 6-4)
Those cover the old bad matchups
The new trouble group that i’m not sure on yet is Deejay, Ibuki, Makoto, and El Fuerte. El fuerte is very VERY difficult without gaining a knock-down. I’ll keep you guys posted.
I could care less about the mu numbers but I agree with u that Gief loses to all those characters or more appropriately, will eventually lose to all those characters. I would also add Makoto, Ibuki, Ken(maybe 5-5), Juri, and probably Yang to the list of bad mu’s. I have to agree with UltraDavid that gief will end up being in the bottom third when all is said and done.
