skimming over the last few pages i have A LOT of negative things to say to a few of you but i’ll save myself the finger strain since my wise words usually fall on deaf ears.

on the plus side more and more of you keep smartening up and FINALLY seeing shit i was talking about months and even years ago. maybe ill come back in another couple months and everyone will have finally walked my path and ditched the shite character. it still baffles me why some of you are still trying. im doing you a favour by warding you away from vega you know.

Ditching a character you like is never smart, UNLESS winning matches literally is the only enjoyment you get from fighters OR you get sponsored/paid for playing street fighter… It’s the reason daigo ditched Ryu, i guess.
I actually feel sorry for daigo having to sell out from his usual Shoto love (and seth killian confirmed he did sell out to top tier consiously @ revelations)… to get money for himself and PR for madcatz and capcom by keeping to win. His matches are also nothing special to watch anymore…geneijin and his bs safe moves make nothing he does really hype pr special anymore…even mago is more fun to watch now and i never liked his matches… guess Sako and Tokido are the “international” japs to watch now. (unless madcatz team forces tokido to drop that silly A tier Akuma for yang or something)

Anyways i wander off topic.

If Vega is the character you like the most, then just play him… he is not the best character out there, but certainly not the worst either.

Most of us survived 1,5 year of 750 health maskless, walldive glitches, FBA combo’s not hitting 70% of the cast, not even having a freaking overhead.
Certainly most of us can take a cosmic heel not having + frames, no matter how redicilous it was to nerf vega in the first place.

A rusty Makoto got top16 in a tournament with more heavy hitters then EVO ever had (only excluding the beast) with AE vega.
Get back to work instead of switching… represent the claw you like to play instead of switching to some bs chinese guy for some easy wins or something.

Man, I was really feeling the nerf to the 2nd hit of s.HK when even fucking Honda focused the first hit, DASHED under my 2nd hit. WTF was that shit?
Anyway, I think something was buffed about c.HK I find it easier to anti-air with it, almost like a shitty version of Rose’s c.MK. Anyone else find this out too?

I don’t notice and change with st.hk. It seems to be the same exact move as it always has been. These changes really don’t effect Vega much. He’s pretty much the same character if not a bit better in my opinion READ: OPINION

fyi almost everything you guys “think” is different is NOT. it’s all in your heads. i dont know how many times i have to list the changes for you assholes to get it in your fucking head.

now i understand sticking with a character you like to degree - hell, that’s why i stuck with vega for so long (until AE where i made the full ditch), but there comes a point where you have to realize “hey, do i want be competitive? do i want to win, and win BIG? does THIS character enable me to do that?”. for me, the answers were “yes, yes, no”. for what should be everyone on this forum (a competitive fighting game scene forum), the first two answers should always be “yes” and the third answer should be found through basic logic and common sense.

now like i said, i could stick to vega for a degree, but enough is enough. CRapcom freely shit on vega FOR THE SAKE of shitting on vega, then introduced two butt-fuckingly strong characters while simultaneously buffing the character already known to be the strongest. i dont mind losing, but i despise losing to people who i feel are worse than me. vega makes you lose fights even though you are 250% better than your opponent. the character vega brings YOU as a player DOWN. i want to win, and if you’re on this site you want to win. using vega with the intention of winning is counter-productive.

vega is my FAVOURITE character and always has been (tied with bison) since SF2. i hate the fact that i can’t use him seriously but that’s what it is. he’s shitty and has to be ditched. if if he was usable to the point where you could win with him, i’d still be rockin’ him beside bison. no matter what character you have you can make it far, but can you make it to the TOP?

now may i ask you: what the sweet christ makes you think vega can compete in this game? what makes you think vega stands two shits of a chance against yun? rufus? yang? akuma? against these characters with REAL tools? REAL game plans? REAL mix ups? options? these characters that you will run into large multiples of in any tournament?

whenever i read or hear someone saying “im going to win big with vega”, that translates into my head “im going to scale mount everest and take this boulder with me”. hey i believe you could maybe screw around in the rockies at Mount Elbert with that boulder after 5 years of training, but you ain’t taking that shit to everest and living.

lastly, on the subject of trolling, since i JUST had this discussion elsewhere i’ll copy and paste an altered version of what i said there to here:

Differing opinions, criticizing and pointing out the not-so-convenient truths =/= trolling. Trolling = inflammatory, off topic, griefing or otherwise irrelevant remarks with the intention of provoking an emotional response from one or more people.

An example of trolling: Rugalitarian is cum guzzling retard who wouldn’t know a non-tournament viable character if they crawled up his ass and pleasured his g-spot.

An example of differing opinions/criticisms/inconvenient truths: Vegaman is dumb for thinking he speaks “American” rather than “English”. Vega is not viable as a competitive character and therefor anyone on this website should switch him out as their main and choose a more reliable character.

Totally agree with you. It was different in Super when their aim was to balance everyone. For some fucked up reason they thought it would be a great design philosophy to deliberately make thing unbalanced. Probably trying to recreate the feel of SSF2T but the thing is with that is everyone could do stupid damage, errors, didnt matter much, come backs were easy.

There comes a point where you just dont have the tools needed to win while there are other characters that do. Thats how capcom designed it so dont argue wth me, its the way they balanced it. It was always an uphill battle for vega even in Super because he just didnt have the tools. Now he’s nerfed and even though most of the cast is too they STILL have the tools that have always made it hard for vega. The key problem here is there are fundamental problems with vega’s design. Play who you want to play, drop vega if you want to win because that just how it is.

I have tried AE Vega once so I can’t really argue with your points on how “bad” he is in your opinion. But I will be playing tomorrow at my friends house for awhile and see how things go. But for now, let me focus on another part of your post here. You mention that in order to win ,match competitively, you must use a very reliable and good characters…funny…Because if everyone were to follow that sick logic, we would have ten Yuns in the top ten in every tournament and street fighter would be a stupid game…or probably a fei long in there somewhere. XD Sorry, but playing fighting games like that just does not seem right IMO. Just a person trying to win at something. Have fun playing a boring character and getting bodied by better players while you are stuck at square 5 or 6 with this new character while the rest are already a million steps ahead of you since they decided to stick to what they know they can work with or have been working with this whole time. It’s best to just stay with what you have and make the best of it. That is what I have done all my life.

Example: Liu Kang…been using him since Mk1…still haven’t dropped him…Amazing, huh? I have used Vega since ST.

And wouldn’t it be even more impressive if someone were to play Vega well and win a tournament with such a “shit” character against a tourny full of cheap, lame, high tier characters? Or at least go far? Not saying that competitive play is about impressing people, but wouldn’t that indicate a skill level here if you were able to beat a world class gamer who mains Akuma or Fei Long for example with Vega? sigh You know, ever since I have seen this forum, I have become more insecure thanks to pessimistic people such as yourself. I don’t believe in tiers, but it really does get to me when I actually see a tier list for the first time in my life and realize I have been playing a weak character this whole time. After all those winning streaks online that I managed to suceed against very good players, it was with a weak character by competitive standards. I impressed myself, yet it ruined me mentally for good. Everytime I play, I always have every one of these quotes stuck in my head in a nassle obnoxious voice that I imagine when reading posts here.

“Capcom hates Vega”
“Shit tier”
“Hopeless against insert high tier character here”
“Ultra can’t combo, so stupid”
“You have very few options.”
“No overhead”
“Gets dizzied easily”

My god, did I suck for months because of it. But I have gotten so much better after getting back to my old self, but thanks to people like you, I still realize Vega is a weak character and will have to spend the rest of the tournies as an “underdog”. I was having fun too. =\ And I think that’s what people should be doing when it comes to playing with a character. I can still win with Vega…I USE A FRIGGIN XBOX 360 CONTROLLER WITH DISABLED LIGHT ATTACKS FOR CHRIST SAKE! And I have beaten great players online. You guys use better methods than I do (stick, Fightpad). No need for excuses.

I’ll be playing AE tomorrow…Nerfs or buffs… does not matter to me…All that matters is what Vega can now do and how I will approach these things when it comes to high level play and how I will apply them to my play style. I’ll just let people like you mouth off like a crying scrub who can’t manage a few nerfs and resort to dropping your main over them. I’ll just have fun.
