i just tested out on sagat in training room. exactly the same result
I tried the stuff you mentioned with ryu , max range c.mp xx exfba was always whiffing on crouching ryu in both super and ae
For s.hk it seemed to be hitting twice from barely closer in ae than in super but felt like a tiny distance differerence
Jump in fierce-cr.mk xx hk.st was whiffing in super too on crouching ryu if mk was blocked while ex.st was hitting in both versions. With ryu at least i didn’t notice any whiff distance difference of hk.st
mmmm. Been off the game for a while, but im still sure FBA has been changed, im whiffing it like I use to in vanilla. Will get some time getting use to it. There seems to be something wrong with all the new characters hitboxes aswell. The amount of times my claw/foot went in them, and didnt hit! lol. Also, does anyone find izuna dropping Oni difficult? The guys massive, but I have a better chance izuna dropping the smaller characters xD
On a side note, EternalBlaze, when will you start on the new match up thread? Old one has become a Q&A, can’t really find any useful information in it, nor is it useful to post anything unless someone asks lol. You did take responisbility for it right? Something about having done the Juri match up thread, and willing to do Vega, or was that someone else???
Im thinking, post it, people give feedback, and it can be updated accordingly on the first page. Thanks!
Noticed this yesterday in training mode: Jump in HP > cr.MK > cr.MP > EX FBA nets you about 4 more damage points then if you jump in with HK. Was this like this in Super or is this an AE change? For this combo I had gotten used to jumping in with HK but i’ll take the extra damage output and have switched to HP.
it shouldnt… they do exactly the same damage… the only difference is that jHK comes out a frame faster than jHP… i’ll test tho
Edit:
nope both do 329 in AE and 351 in super. no difference between the HK and HP in terms of damage. checking out stun
stun is 505 for both versions both buttons. no difference. you probably didnt account for life bar damage scaling
I had stun disabled. Hmmm… this is interesting. I will try it out when I get home and see what I was doing.
i was gonna do it but i thought pedoviejo was taking care of that?
im still willing to do it but he’s not interested anymore, but afaik he’s the one working on it atm.
*I just played AE for the first time last night and is it just me or did they nerf the range on st. roundhouse and low forward? *Vega feels different somehow but I can’t quite place it.
Is it me or did Vega get a health boost in AE? (If they did, it’s pretty whack compared to his current damage output)
I would think this is rather the damage nerf of all the cast in effect.
As for the rebuild match-up thread: Do it PREASHE! I can’t contribute but I am dying to read it. So far the Abel section helped a lot. And it’s only 36 Characters away from the Yang and Yun match-up
You’re right. But the reason df.hk was so good was not only because it was useful for blowing up crouch techs from any range and dealing a good amount of damage w/o the use of meter, but because it was a long range poke that was unpunishable on block and that can be used to punish, get in and/or frame trap (due to the amount of frame advantage that it had when spaced).
It can still be used to punish crouch techs when you don’t have the meter and still be “safe” from [most] punishes on block, but you have to watch your spacing and not be as liberal as before. It’s still good just best not used against any character w/ a 3 frame [or less] reversal (e.g. Ryu, Gief). Also, if blocked, make sure you’re ready to tech a throw and/or block whatever offense your opponent decides to initiate (due to lack of frame advantage). The best way is to do delayed crouch techs or backdash (assuming your opponent isn’t competent with catching backdashes w/ OS).
The nerf wasn’t AS BAD as expected but it still does hurt Vega.
I got sidetracked with school, than got side tracked with Marvel when I figured out a concept for The Invincible Avenger, Ironman, dealing with approaching, space control, and pressure. I learned to like it :(…
Ill get to work on the match up chart tonight. No 8 hour Chem class for me tommorow.
I played AE a bit at a friends house because I really had to go to classes…I played one match…
Yes…Vega feels different…I have yet to determine if it was good or bad. But I did realize that I had a hard time grabbing on block after the CH because my friends to this day thinks it can be broken by a certain well timed move (he’s a bit of a noob at this game). I tried doing the EX Rolling crystal flash and comboing it with cr m.p but my friend wouldn’t let me. XD I kicked his ass but there was one round where his Yang would not let me move at all…o_O And my friend is no expert either.
What I love so much about this new vega is the grab of the izuna drop. I did like three of them in a row.
Good ol’ ST days. Endless Izuna drops!
ok, i dont know how to test this outside of the c.HP OS, but i think they made vega’s c.LPs a chain. either that or its a 2-frame now coz its definitely easier to do 4 c.LPs.
anyone know a way to test this?
it’s not a chain and it’s not a 2 frame link. you’ve just gotten better at timing it correctly
Linking st. short to st. roundhouse seems so much easier in AE than it did in Super. It wasn’t hard before, but now it’s so easy it feels like a chain.
same to me… i hit my jHP, cLP x4, xMPxxEX FBA combo just as often as i do in super.
people think that BACK DASHING vega’s HK is bad? well how about FORWARD DASHING that shyt!? fought a sakura and makotothat got away with that shyt… can you imagine my surprise?
also had a juri forward dash under mu sky claw lol… and have had dude back dash out of my ex FBA 2-hit claw attack… WTF!!! @ CAPCOM
6’4’’ man lunging at your chest at 60km/h with a claw…Just shake it off, you’ll be fine once your bar starts recovering agian.
Dan can crouch taunt your SHC and win
Fei and Cody can taunt their way out of SHC on console
Anyone can jab SHC and win
A true EX SHC cross up only does one hit and 20 damage
A true SHC cross up is punishable by anyone always
SHC has no range bonus from claw
Theres enough time to Focus/Taunt–>Super with Ryu
