I’m serious, i feel like they make Claw a character for noob. i prefer they just increase the start up of splendid claw like an AA, reversal scarlet terror is way too much powerful, no one can approach Claw now lol

I think he was fine the way he was. Now there’s going to be a whole fucking lot more bandwagoners and I don’t like that at all, tbh. Here’s why Vega will be a really strong character:
He’ll play more like a real poking character in a way that he now can take advantage of forcing the reaction to jump (although forcing it in the first place is dumbed down in the poking character archetype in SSFIV, mostly because pokestrings suck so much) as soon as he has meter. This basically means people will have to think about whether they’re going to eat a 180 DMG move and be knocked down, with Vega in their face or mess around with counterpoking and reversals, in which case Vega’s going to have a good shot at the match because he owns a lot of characters in the cast in footsies and is a real chump at punishing stupid reversals/mistakes.
People will have to start thinking about when he has charge and when he doesn’t and even if the latter is the case they still can’t jump in for free anymore. Vega players will be able to rush less (what makes him rly fun imo) and still win and there will now be a lot more situations in which it is better to hold on to one’s charge instead of being mobile and walking around.
And I didn’t even read that he can FADC it. Geez…
true, but the way i see it is that others now cant make me bunk down and respect their rush down. I now have the liberty to attack them more because if they knock me down, not they have to respect me. So I can continue my attack.
It surely will prevent people from doing half assed jump ins on his wakeup now, so a lot more knockdowns on Vega will result in a neutral outcome because the opp will now more often be thinking “I’d better not, this is the wrong spacing/timing for this”, and so on.
I just have to say, EX Scarlet Terror invincibility is gdlk. Vega finally gets his get-out-of-jail-free card that every top-tier character has. And yes, this alone may bump him to top tier. But he should have been there in the first place.
I wonder if they changed SHC at all. Normal versions are bloody useless if you ask me. Then again, so is Gief’s Running Bear Grab. Bwahaha.
It’s not that I don’t want it there. I just think he was already fine as he was.
At the end of it, I would’ve taken keeping as he was WITHOUT a nerfed backdash and damage reduction on EX FBA than take that tbh.
I’m probably only speaking for myself here. I’ll use the EX.ST, don’t get me wrong, I use it anyway if I think I can hit someone with the thing, but I guess I just would’ve preferred no changes than all of this.

At the beginning of super when I was still playing Bison, the amount of shitty ones that you found that were blatently just jumping on the bandwagon of U2 was irritating as hell.
Back in vanilla, Vega’s were few and far between, and when you found one, they were good and often knew their shit.
Now you just find ones that you sit there and shake your head at.

This bandwagon thing is childish, just get over it. Are people not allowed to play who they want to play? No ones special just because they were playing low tier characters when they were actually low tier. I bet you they dont give a shit that you played vega from the start.

Vega not being a scary character till now… What? Are you on some sort of drugs? Have you ever watched Makoto use Vega? Tatsu? It seems like now everyone wants a brain dead character.
The band wagon stuff is not at all childish. There we very few Vegas at EVO. The only ones I knew of there were myself, Tatsu, Jozhear, Blaq_skillz, and Thai Vega I think. When I steam rolled 10 people in a row in casuals a few times over and they got up and told me “Dude you have a really sick Vega. I’ve never seen so and so before” and It felt really nice. Surely I wouldn’t have had any compliments if I sat down and just started beating people with Abel, Bison, Guile, Chun Li etc. The mentality is all wrong here.
I then went to some tournament in Tampa FL, and made it really far. People loved seeing my Vega put on a show, and I overheard someone say “Dis kid got da best vega in da world dawg” and it made me giggle because it’s not true, but still. Now it’s all going to change with these unneeded buffs.
He was fine the way he is.
I’m pretty sure nearly every person here has played offline at some point.
It’s not even that “people arent allowed to play my character waaahh” I just don’t exactly want the whole Ryu/Ken complex again but instead everyone’s playing Vega. It gets boring playing like…5 characters out of a 35 character roster.
I’m happy Vega is getting invincibility on EX ST. Seriously, I am not going to complain one bit if my main turns out to be top tier. That’s kinda a good thing the way I see it. shrugs
I feel that most players would agree that SSF4 Vega is kinda like DeeJay in ST, very underated but solid at the same time.

People give him much less credit in his current incarnation than he deserves.

So, Vega goes from strong punish game, weak ass defensive game, and godlike pokes, to all around solid, still strong (slightly weaker, but still), and still with godlike pokes? Hell, all I could ever hope for was QCFx2 on SC, but I’m not complaining. High tier, boyah!
