And I still don’t get why people getting excited over possible easier FADC combos? Yeah, it’s good for styling or if it will kill your opponent, but why else would you use it? It does shit damage and blows 2 meters, and thats the real downside, now that all our combos will require meter.
cr.MK could replace CH for counterhit setups, but we will not always have the meter to combo anything else then cr.MP. Vega is a meter whore in AE…
I agree with you on this, we’re definitely gonna have to lame it out a whole lot more in AE. We’re definitely gonna be one of the more boring characters to watch lol. I’m thinking the vs Blanka playstyle is what’s gonna look normal but with more walldives e_e. CH was good before and it’ll still be decent, just not godlike. All it’s gonna take is a little more care with using it, plus a lot of other characters have received far more serious nerfs so I’m sure it’ll all be good in the end.
^ exactly. even when i get over 5000 pp, i can’t keep it, cause the vast majority of figthters out there online are 3000 PP minus. lose to one random scrub and you’re back 128 points. waste of time really, i just mess around with alts now and try to find ppl with lots of BP to farm for Vega’s points. gotta stay number 1! =D
With the current damage values this combo would do 431 damage which is insane, but cr.MK damage got nerved, and j.HP, cl.HP, cr.MP xx EX FBA already does 381 (or 386? cant remember exactly and to lazy to calculate…), so about 40 damage more… For maybe 3/4 of a meter more? Don’t think it’s thats too good of a trade.
The only thing that really stuck out to me when I played Vega was the godlike cr.mk + slower Ultra 2. Also, his Izuna drop seems to do less damage. It was 150 for the Izuna before but now, I think it’s like… 120 or something. Which isn’t too bad.
His cr.mk though… that shit works really fuckin well in footsies + pressure. In the corner, I love pressuring with st.lk > cr.mk. I’m still fucking around with different block strings atm. No real combos. Players who love to press buttons get stuffed… and on reaction, assuming you buffered the down charge during st.lk, you can combo into cr.mp xx EX FBA. In footsies too; I ended up counter poking a Ryu’s cr.mk with my cr.mk > cr.mp ftw. Siiiiiiiiiick.
Once or twice a week, I go to Video94 in the morning before anyone gets there to really fuck around with all my characters + Yun/Yang (in order to learn the match up). I don’t ever play much Vega there though. Mainly Cammy and Juri. Testing shit out for a good couple of hours or so until people start coming in. And it’s only 25 cents per game. Fuckin amazing.
But if I want real quality gameplay/practice, I hit up Round 1 at night. Might go there tonight 0_0. It’s a dollar per game so that’s when I use Vega and try to rack up as much wins as I can LOL.

Can someone explain to me what “CH” means?
I hear about it being nerfed and what not, but I’ve no clue what it means.
Also, can someone be specific in the major changes that they made to Vega in the arcade edition. Thanks.
EX Roll can now have cr.MP combo’d onto the end, so you can go EX Roll, crmp xx EX FBA.
cr.mk startup is now 6 frames instead of 8. He can now from what I hear combo cr.mk into another cr.mk with that being the case.
Cosmic Heel got hit with the nerf bat so you’re now at minus something, it keeps changing by opinion, on block.
Splendid claw has increased startup so it’s now slower.
And he got a few damage nerfs.
I think his backdash alsogoes into Airborne frames earlier.
I have a feeling I’m missing something but those are the main points that stand out right now to me.
Eternal Blaze went to Cali for a few days and played AE. He said that cr.mk > cr.mk is possible but wasn’t sure of the frames.
So it could be counterhit but then who knows if the + frames on hit have changed? Afterall, the don’t tell us everything in the dev blogs, Seth Killian pretty much clarified that.

Played a bit more of AE… my Vega is as solid as ever =] I luv it.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure cr.mk > cr.mk does not work. I tried it a couple of times but I couldn’t get it to connect. And my execution was pretty on point with everything else shrugs
CH can still be used to bait/punish throw attempts/crouch techs in the same manner in AE but obviously not as potent. I haven’t been punished for it on block yet. I manage to tech throws on block with crouch tech. It still seems viable if the opponent doesn’t have a reversal special that comes out in 3 frames I guess (I haven’t played a Ryu who’s attempted to reversal DP punish on block yet) but we’ll see. Eh… I manage to land 80% of my CH anyway so I ain’t worried regardless lol.
