If I am not screwing up anything here, the c.jab link after the rcf fadc becomes a viable two-framer, and the following link is plinkable. You get enough charge time in the dash that you don’t have to do c.jabs… only one then plink the c.strong and cancel.
This proud to be low tier mentality is just pathetic. Beating scrubs using high tier chars doesn’t get you anywhere and won’t win you tournaments. And why would Vega be not interesting anymore when he’s high tier? (Unless he would be as braindead as in ST) I’d have no problem with Vega being high tier, not at all. (with lets say I-Frames on RH ST + FADC-able and a 3-frame chainable cr.Jab, and that would make him high tier IMO)
The problem in AE is, that we will be so heavy dependend on meter for damage. We can’t just throw CH out there and the only combo-ender is EX FBA. Those FADC Combos will be flashy, but when do we have 2 meter to spare (or 3 for the EX-FBA ender)? And the problem is to land these RCF in the first place, why use (LP) RCF + FADC when you can do EX-FBA which is hitting from further away and will probably do not that much less damage with that retarded scaling?
Hmmm. The Cosmic Heel test there is interesting. If the move was truly 0 on block from max distance, like Capcom said, then shouldn’t that have been a free throw or cl.jab punish for Guile (Assuming that’s a 3F normal, I don’t really know Guile’s stuff)?
And wasn’t there early impressions from Reno saying it was a free throw (And SRK on reverse)? :looney:
Probably a good idea to try it on someone with a fast cr.lp or something like Ryu. I love how much they enjoy mashing that shit online against me when I CH them XD
@wwmajin- You are right in some sense. I tested close fierce into EX RCF x cr mp x EX FBA and the dmg was less than close fierce x cr mp x ex FBA lol.
However I am working on some tricks with RCF to allow us to use it more efficiently in matches to replace CH, so it may not be that unlikely for you to get lp or mp RCF hitting in matches.
And for those who don’t know, cr mk being 6 frames is that big of a deal. So many situations that Vega would have to use other moves, he can now use cr mk. If he got his 18 frame dash, and combined with his cr mk, he will be set.
Also just because he has the stupid EX RCF buff doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to use it to do good damage. You just can’t use CH openly, and cr mp does slightly less dmg, but now you have more situations where you could use cr mk. All his main combos are fine- cl fierce combos, cr mk combos, cr lp combos, st lk combos, CH (as a punish at least). If cr mp is 60 dmg (which I think it is) then all he gets is 10 or less dmg less than before on his main combos.
He doesn’t need EX anymore than before to function. Its just that now, if you are in a situation where you hit with RCF or want to use your EX bar afterwards, you have that option more available.

Im not being an ass, im just saying how is that dumb. especially when you commit 14 frames on start up and your gambling big time. and you have these moves in the game.
I think we do need more. I’m just thinking of the sitiuations we tried to counterpoke or hit crouch-techs with CH, 240 damage for no meter and free oki. Now we could counterpoke with cr.MK (and I’m still sceptical how good it will be as a counterpoke), but the only really damaging option afterwards is cr.MP xx EX FBA. I don’t even know for sure if the charge-time is enough for walk forward cr.MK … with the faster startup.
If c.short is neutral on block, then c.short, c.forward becomes a very good frame trap. When people crouch tech your block strings, they aren’t hitting the :db::lp::lk: on the first available frame, they are late teching. So a six frame window is just about right…

That in itself may make the Chun Li match up easier. Right now mashing on c.short is so free for Chun Li. She can do it all day long every day and it’s completely safe for her, gives her tons of undeserved interupts, and can be hit confirmed into EX legs, U2.

You’re 100% right. Vega can use cosmic heel from a distance with frame advantage (let’s stay he’s +2 from making someone block c.forward) and they can mash fucking sweep and it will start up and stick beat cosmic heel, even though that thing is somewhat a low move hopper. It’s utterly pathetic. Chun Li’s short will reach back and knock it out of startup as well.
Undeserved nerf, I don’t doubt that, but it is what it is and we have to deal with it and adapt.
