So what your saying is…your mad bro? Nah but in all seriousness, capcom only patches majorly played characters rather than respectfully balancing everyone.
Real talk man. I play an average character who gets destroyed by your character. I stick with her even if she does have bad match-up and has to work to win. A good player will adapt to change, a bad one will only complain. You def can’t nerf a player with skill. A character is only 10% the player is 90%.
Lol I don’t think its 90/10 skill to player. If that was the case then Daigo could pick Hakan and win tournaments…which wouldn’t happen. Only person that can use low tiers and win is the God of 3s Kuroda
exactly, that’s what I was saying. these nerfs DO suck to his CURRENT setups… it’s very possible that we can create new ones with the throw changes.
we’ll see. though, tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if Akuma’s matchups go down after this. maybe they’ll buff Oni or something, though.
Makoto has one of these, not a jump attack but her overhead chop is in fact an overhead, and breaks armor.
And he played yun at evo and poongko blew him up and at godsgarden he was blown up again. Daigo is a great player and has great fundamentals, he used to play ryu. He only picked up yun to prove a point, and ate his own words. Happens when you get blown up. I’ll be honest with you, i could pick up yun, and ask daigo to play hakan, and he’d probably still blow me up. It def comes down to the player in the end. If you rely on a character to crutch you all the way up, you end up in a situation like this. Nerfs suck balls, but what are you gonna do about it? Either drop the character, or stay with them.
Yes to prove he’s not overpowered I posted a tier list that shows he is almost all even matchups.
Crazy.
Japanese players made the list. So it’s random internet guy vs players who know the game.
I think even you know who wins that.
so you assume that coming from japan, it must be accurate.
theres theory fighter/random internet guys there too
I assume it’s more accurate than whatever some random guys posts.
There sure are, but they have more experience with the game and are less random as a result.
What stupid fucks who come in thread saying that Akuma deserved the nerfs don’t realize is that:
It’s not the palm nerf we’re salty about, it’s the forward throw, Akuma’s backthrow is USELESS and now his Forward throw is pretty much USELESS too. At high level Akuma’s game is based around frame traps and that forward throw to open up the opponent, Akuma deserves to have a NORMAL throw that gives him the ability to setup safejump/x-up game like any other fucking shoto in the game. He actually needs that ability more than the other shotos because his game is based around creating setups and he has lower health for a damn reason.
After finding my main in AKuma (tried out Guile, Ken, Ryu) I kind of am looking forward to these nerfs to see how well I can actually adjust. The whole making his demon flip fist not as overhead will suck on some matches though.
actually ur only exposing the lesser likes, DJ is free to Akuma…u wouldnt be able to do that to me …i can still vortex the sh*t of u, and u wont kick out of it I promise u that
I’ll probably pick up Ryu or Yun if these bullshit changes really do happen.
Akuma beats DJ…I know. People in this Akuma forum don’t believe me. But you won’t beat me with a vortex. I know the matchup too well. Dj limits vortex options. I know what you can do after back and foward throw, after dash, after whiffed normals etc. I know what empty and safe jumps look like
God damn relax ragers. It I’d a test version…remember seeing duper test in NYC with hawks super grabbing kids from half screen(rofl)? I Agree with the palm and to the guy complaining about charge being held without it u have a crossup. Hi know your char? The throw offer ideas that compliment the change to it. Maybe they dint get dumped like full screen but rather half? Would give new setups and get rid of that unblockable. On a side note I would like to see them make that short crossup in the left corner land u in the corner instead of having a crossup and maintaining position.
Anyways I like to drop by & say
I think what capcom did in its decision making with Akuma is way off base—DF palm ovrh removed & forward throw has 2 frame recovery wow capcom
We dont know if these are official yet, hopefully not but I will try to offer some solutions or a remedy :nunchuck: to this problem if n fact this will b offical
I have been a dedicated Akuma player since vanilla & it has taken me alot of time to master the art of the vortex bc Akuma is a Vortex character–even to this day im still learning
And if u are not still progressing as a skilled Akuma player or ur vortex consist of only air tatsu cross up on wake up, u might not b able to offset these nerfs if they r of course offical
-1st point- this will effect weak footsie players… its time to focus more heavily on footsie game & learning how & why on whiff punishing w/sweep on reaction so u can open up ur opponent—& if ur vortex game is weak u wont really understand this till ur ground game improves & if u do whiff punish w/sweep–Do u know ur options w/Gouki?
-2nd point- u need to expand ur knowledge of Akuma & ur match ups and be more critical about what u wil do on wake up, less auto piloting…hmm…Df palm no ovrh…Now lets think about this if players get more relaxed on wake up & think they can hold DBack if u do DF mix up go for more DF grabs if u see ur opponent doing this bc I think there will b more opportunities for this (but of course u need to be character specific in doing this like u cant really be like that w/DJ for instance) --adaption is key more so
-3rd point- learn ur Dive kick set ups and angle them properly to stuff reversal attempts like what beats 3 frame 4 frame 5 frame reversals & beyond or create DK whiffs for safe jump opportunities (if u watch alot of Tokido material u knw what im talking about) to make opponent do something crazy then u can devastate ur opponent–be smart w ur DK even more
-4th point- No forward throw set ups, try his other throw back throw…Now most of the players in SF kingdom r happy like the scrub they r & thats fine…Akuma players actually mastering this set up is way in the minority then majority but again think of other options w AKuma…I would suggest of course if this is final go in the lab & see what u can do after forward throw & also change up ur throw set ups in stead of forward throw most of time switch it up & do back throw which will put opponent on the ground right next to u & from there begin to think of ways to open up ur opponent from this throw
-5th point- beef up ur ground ground again lvl up n that dept. learn to stay on the ground more to get a KDown opportunity & also use the DF palm for safe jump situations boost up reactions & lvl up that defense
-lastly master option selecting this separates u from being and average akuma to a really good akuma tournament worthy player that knows his options
Well see if this patch is final hopefully not but if it is I will stay the course
I was gonna drop Akuma but after reading this I am gonna get a straw and just suck it the fuck up and get better with him. NO HOMO…LOL
That’s real funny because they nerfed the sound fundamentals and left the gimmicks.
all my fellow akuma players…unite with new technology, crying about it isn’t gonna change shit now. so buckle down and when the game comes out just do work. just like what happens when every new game comes out. work with the flaws and see what we can come up with. don’t get discouraged dudes.
I thought I was salty after adon got nerfed
