I’m so pissed right now I’d rip Ono’s toy to shreds.
Jesus christ, out of all the thing, they had to nerf the damn vortex? Wasn’t enough wiping away the high-low mixups from palm, did they really have to touch the throw and screw with all the setups? Are they really so dumb they couldn’t find any other way to fix the unblockables, since that clearly was their aim?
And oh, we got bufffed, right. +21 damage off a move we use to run away and can already be baited. What a huge buff.
And honestly, I’m disgusted by those trolls who rejoice at our ‘salty tears’. Lots of us even rooted for characters to get buffed and be viable in this game.
Seth is where it’s at in ver.2012 if you want a rushdown vortex character. He’s not even difficult to play at all once you get past his crappy walk speed. Gonna have to get used to it
I’m thinking of switching to Seth too, after this especially. I’d been learning him as a 2nd character but I always give up and go back to akuma, because I’ve spent so much time learning him. Now Capcom have made all that a complete waste of time.
Akuma isn’t even a glass cannon. He’s a glass frying pan. Yeah, you can do some damage with it but you’re probably not going to kill anyone and you’ll probably get smashed for trying.
His damage output is okay, and he will still have some set-ups off throws and sweeps and what not. But that’s not enough to make a character viable, especially when he deals almost no stun, gets stunned easily, has the lowest health in the game, has a shitty U2, has a U1 which is good but not FADC-able and gives your opponent almost a whole super bar in meter, and has sub-par normals (outside of his sweep). He’s just a shit version of Ryu or Ken now.
What’s the fucking point? I’m done with this game unless they cancel these changes and give him some stun back. Which they won’t. It’s just annoying though, that you can spend literally years trying to master a character only to have Capcom fuck all that up with one retarded ‘balance’ patch. It makes me not want to bother learning another character because who’s to say they won’t just nerf that one 6 months from now? Akuma was not top tier. He was powerful if you were willing to spend countless hours mastering his footsies and wake-up game, and if you have excellent execution, but he was about as far from easy mode as you could get.
Well Akuma, it was nice knowing ye. It will be interesting to see who Tokido switches to, but for now I will be switching to 3SOE. Thankfully Capcom has no plans to ‘balance’ that…
first off all,Look up My Stats on Xboxlive, My name is Kavious21.
google my youtube page, google kavious21 see if you dont find me fighting plenty of dudes from this forum, and other random shit.
Im not saying akuma’s Nerfs werent over the top, learn to read. Im saying that other characters still have it that much harder then akuma. akuma pretty much has 5-5 6-4 matchups across the board in AE. Cause in my opinion,Minus the twins akuma has No bad matchups, thats just how I FEEL. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
Edit: And what does my post say at the bottom for you guys that are Butthurt. Either play a different character,Deal with the bullshit, or play a new game? Its pretty simple.
Wait isn’t a majority of 5/5 and some 6/4 matchups the definition of balanced? Considering his low health and stun even in his favored matches he can still lose at any time. The character didn’t really dominate anybody and with the buffs to characters below him even if he stayed unchanged those matches would move closer to even than they currently are.
Capcom needs to learn that sometimes you need to leave well enough alone. But that was two versions of this game ago…
Too bad that having all 5-5 and some 6-4 for a character which loses half health from a combo into ultra is probably the closest thing to balance you can get in a fighting game. And not only he got those nerfs, but every other characters aside from Fei (heavy ones) and Viper (nigligible) got essentially buffed.
With such contest there was no need to touch his vortex and screw the work lots of players put in him. You could’ve destroyed his damage and make him hit like a wimp, just like the stun, even that would’ve been better - you know, they did that with Viper.
I don’t think that stating the obvious helps in any way man
To be honest I saw that tier a while ago, and some matchups are off.
There’s no way matchups against twins are just 4.5, why the struggle then? And why do we fare better than Ryu against them, when people actually counterpick 'em with him? Or again the Chun matchup , that’s 6-4 for us, not just some ultra slight advantage a 5.5 represents, if you ask me. :E
But above all: why are we complaining about a grappler losing badly to one of the best zoner in the game? It’s supposed to be like that, Gief is strong against several other characters. Grapplers have always been like that, with great and horrible matchups, come on.
The twins are simply Cammy all over again. At first we felt it was a horrid match, by the end it turned out to be 5/5. The matchup is accurate against the twins, it’s just that many of us have not leveled up our game enough to understand why the chart is accurate.
