More like after a bunch of asshats claiming I said something I didn’t say. I’m not here to talk to you. I’m here to tell you jerks to stop making up shit I didn’t say.
Oh where did I claim you said something you didn’t? Please go ahead
And again I notice you just eliminate any part of the post where I make a point because you know you can’t refute it, so your resort to ad hominem attacks.
Why don’t most of you idiots trying to bring up pointless arguments with no sufficient evidence to back it up because you obviously have no knowledge on Akuma go away? Chances are you’ll still fucking cry even after the nerfs…why? Because you fucking suck at the matchup, he didn’t need to be nerfed. So go away, no-one wants you here, most of you are chatting shit and just starting pointless arguments.
The combined nerfing of both his throw and palm I can only see as an intent to nerf his wakeup pressure and offense, which is strange to the extent of hypocricy, because AE is supposed to be more offensive than the previous generations. If Akuma can’t even continue a decent offense after a knockdown, what’s the very POINT of our beloved Demon?
We can only hope that they improve his normals (active frames/hitstun/stun) to improve his footsies and zoning as a compensation to keep him offensive, but that would truly make him a pointless Ryu clone and there are plenty of those (e.ryu).
It seems to me that they lost sight of what Akuma is supposed to bring as a character to the game as an alternative to Ryu and Ken.
If they have to nerf his vortex options, it would be okay to have some of his vanilla spice back.
Let’s face it, in vanilla you didn’t have to play the vortex game with Akuma you win. You could deal close to 50 % stun on an average health/stun character with a single b&b (470 stun with cr.LK, cr.LP, cr.MP xx Tatsu > LP Shoryu xx HP Shaku, 430 if you replace cr.MP with cr.LP), threatening him with stun if you landed the following mixup. And damage was way higher with a 130 damage LP SRK and 150 damage HP Shaku. That’s why nobody felt to explore the vortex like Tokido did in Super, and Momochi ultra-solid play actually brought wins at tourneys.
We can’t go back in time and basically forget all the stuff we learnt (actually that’s very true with everything that stems off a forward throw), so asking for a vanilla like stun/damage output would be retarded. But if we have to lose some vortex options and landing mixups gets harder, at the very least let us deal some stun again so that this harder effort gets some reward.
I’m calling you (and a number of people) a jerk because this thread have been doing the following:
After I specifically said:
Then YOU come around and say
After I said:
And a bunch of there incredibly rude, ungrateful asshats here:
And more asshats literally making up things I never said just to refute my point. I never fucking said any of those thing:
Then you have the gut to reply with
Look, you are just a bunch of immature, obsessive jerks who simply can’t handle change. Pull out completely irrelevance discussion about semantics just to waste my time when I am genuinely trying to understand your view point. I can see why you are all so salty. Like I said. I am out. This is just going to be a waste of time.
It’s funny that YOU IGNORED THE REST OF THAT POST. If you are complaining so much about semantics why didn’t you ignore that part and look at the rest of the post which wasn’t semantics? You know the part where I showed T-Hawk had a safe jump, turned your own point against you, the part where I explained why we weren’t discussing the cross up tatsu, etc.
Seriously dude you are calling us immature when you are currently the one acting like this?
Well I agree with this. Akuma probably should get more stun to make up for the recent nerf, but I think just a little more, not a lot more. 10 - 20 increase instead of the 50 increase like most people would be thinking.
I believe that Akuma deserved the nerf.
Enjoy 2012
I didn’t ignore it. I thought it doesn’t need more discussion. I made a mistake. T.hawk have a, I would say, rather difficult to pull of safe jump option compare to Akuma, and it is much more limited compare to Akuma too. What else is there to say?
On the same post you expect me to ignore your comment, you are telling me I’m immature for ignoring your comment. Do you know how much a hypocrite you are?
Nah after a LP throw it is rather easy to pull off. As far as limited, nah it is just as useful. Frankly T-Hawk has the same options of safe jump or grab and also better punishes against Chun for trying to get out of the safe jump.
Now I will say Akuma does have more tools in general, but against Chun you don’t need a ton of tools. You just need a good safe jump (she is easy to safe jump) and some other option off the safe jump which more characters have than you would think. The end result is that Chun sucks at waking up so it is no wonder she struggles against Akuma. Frankly most characters who Akuma dominates already had weak wake up games to start with. The only exception is Balrog and Abel since Akuma can beat out their main two wake up options easily.
No I was saying if you thought the argument about 50/50 wasn’t going anywhere why didn’t you say something like…oh I don’t know…
“I don’t believe this argument is going to go anywhere, so let’s just agree to disagree and move on to some other point”
That would have been better than ignoring the rest of my post and proceeding to call me a jerk. Just saying, the way you are acting doesn’t really leave you much room to talk about maturity.
Totally agree.
I’m not sure what you think is wrong with either characters ability to zone especially Seth.
Seth has the best OS backdash punish, the best DP , a great back dash, incredible mobility, average zoning and one of the few characters with a tight blockstring that will push the opponent out of mash range. He also gets to combo from his max medium poke distance, something Akuma lacks.
Many of Seth options are fundamentally good for different things than Akuma.
Because they are not weak in 3 or 4 aspects of fundamentals. You simply fundamentally do not understand those characters or this game.
Are you reading deficient? My reply was a clear response to what you said. I even quoted you.
lol
i agree
So, uhm, is it true that Ryu got his cowardcopter back?
Edit: just watched 5 2012 matches, AE Ryu looks good with the new Tatsu, lots of range to approach opponents now.
Oh so after somebody tells you why you are wrong you go into troll mode?
GTFO scrub.
I was just gonna say. He truly got shut the fuck up and had nothing else to say.
Well after watching Tokido in action, I was kinda surprised, it didn’t look as bad as I thought, he even done an unblockable (no idea why he went for it, makoto ultra’d to escape).
But I think in a long run, it would surface, the vortex nerf I mean, once he faces some decent players, playing characters like Ryu or Abel, characters who got buffed and not recieved a single nerf, even though they always where solid, well I think it would make things even harder. Like I mean Tokido hasn’t been able to take a single big major recently, because Akuma got to work so hard to win, and couldn’t affored to make any mistakes, and that’s kinda impossible againts top players.
Anyway, all I’m saying is it seems Akuma is still good, but I think he won’t be able to take a single big major anymore, too much work to win, and so easy to lose, and now they’ve made the part about winning even more complicated ): We’ll see.
P.S. I still hope they would give up on the throw nerf after loc. test, wish tokido were more critical about that as well on his blog, maybe that would make them hear us.
P.P.S. not related, but E.Ryu looks sick oO that hop kick he does (similar to Fei’s overhead, only that it’s not actually an overhead) and being able to cencel into EX tatsu, man he’s blowing up crouch tech pretty bad as it is with his axe kick, now he would be an absolute nightmare for all who likes to mash crouch tech xD
actually i have plenty to say, thanks for the co sign tho.very cute
but theres clearly no point in arguing with a guy who is constantly clearly tossing flame bait. i sited fundamentals, and he told me about dp fadcs and OSes for backdashes, while saying he dosent see whats wrong what either of their zoning. thats cool, but it had nothing to do with what i said about fundamentals. i dont know how mashing 4 crouching light attacks to get clear of a dp has anything to do with footsies, anti air, ground speed, or defense
if he wanted to discuss things in an intelligent manner he could have, i dont know, talked about the zoning, and what tools they have that makes it okay? tell me about their footsies and how they arent terrible? maybe tell me how they have solid crouch tech tools?
instead in most of his posts he tosses out some insults and avoids addressing anything i actually said. you know that guy at the bar just looking to punch someone. shinakuma204 appears to be the srk equivalent. no point in discussing things with a guy like that
