I believe the reason you can’t interrupt Boxer’s U2 is because of invincibility frames. Also Hakan’s U1 is instant like Hawk and Gief’s, so no jumping out of it on reaction.
There are 2 versions of rogs u1 one where his first punches are up angled and wiff if you are crouching this can’t be u1ed but the straight punch version you can buffer 720 during the block string mashing ppp and you will ultra him after I think the third punch.
Vs bison after the blocked ultra you will be in the corner right after he goes through you dash towards him Also the corner and 720.
Been playing a friend who mains Viper, and the matchup seems like a major pain in the ass if the Viper knows rushdown. I found cr.fierce works moderately well against some of Viper’s air movements, but outside of that, I’m kinda at a loss right now. Not quite sure how to break Viper’s closeup pressure once it starts.
Hakan Vs Hawk seems to be tricky when your facing a good hakan whose using the second ultra
cause once you’ve dealt enough damage to get his ultra meter filled
it’s time to be patient and paranoid
because one false condor dive any jump whatsoever will get punished by that ultra
doesn’t help that he’s a pain when oiled up
maybe it’s just me but seems to me hakan forces you to be aggressive
i haven’t played a lot of hakan users really(then again who has?) so this is just a guess
Youre having trouble with hakan and viper? Viper is 5-5 and 6-4 at best for hawk. Option selects destroy her wake up options and ex dp will stop any jumpin she tries. Dont get caught pressing buttons stupidly and its really not that bad. I was playing wolfkrone in casuals at ECT and we were going back and forth. I might have one more match than he did but regardless the matchup is not that bad.
Hakan is free. Rush him down. Whats he going to do to stop you? St.fp or whatever the chop anti air he has is not that good for stopping jumpins and even when he gets oiled its really not that bad. His spd’s dont hurt nearly as bad as yours
We may need another thread where someone is updating the first few posts daily or anything at all
Grid are you just using sweep jab os vs viper. I’m still working on that match-up. But cs seems to help you advance and bypass sysmo spams. Also here’s my match in winners quarter finals I think at mwc vs wolfkrone using gief but worth the watch.
VS hakan ultra 2 is so easy to bait so after knock down jump over him he pops his u2 you condor dive out of the way. Just don’t do this in the corner.
Against viper I was using spire because its airborne. In theory I think sweep would lose and ex dp would just send you the other way. Pretty sure spire is the best bet
We have too many as it is. If the OP updated everytime “new” info was posted they would be busy correcting bogus info left and right. Once the matchups get more solidified I think an update would be neccessary. Some things could be updated right now probably, but let’s not jump the gun and create more chaos with yet another thread for the same thing. At least wait until the previous thread gets closed.
I’m going over each new reply but am filtering before I update the beginning.
Good vipers go to wake up vs grapplers ex flame kick or that lightning dp I think you might be able to meaty splash jab os and If either of her go to options come out you can lp spd for a great Knock down reset but I will need to test more. If anyone spars with good vipers on xbl let me know because we are in short supply in Chicago.
If you see they are going for ex flame kick more often than ex seismo, os ex dp.
Fei Long has given me hell the last few times I fought one. They seem to turtle and run (unsurprisingly), but my real problem is finding a way to punish his flipping kick thing (180 kick). Obviously cross up isn’t super effective with his fire kick, but I’ve been able to deal with him fine until he starts waiting and launching those flip kicks.
Ultra 1 for fei match. This takes away his overhead (f.mk) entirely because ultra 1 punishes it on hit and block any which way (read: none of the 360s can do this so ONLY ultra). If you can see a chicken wing coming, lp dp will either always trade or win cleanly. Fei needs to get you in the corner to actually be scary. If he hits you with rekkas and you tech, just block because after a rekka combo, feis will dash up and fp rekka incase you tech and try to do anything but block (it will hit backdashes and jumps but probably i think lose to invincible moves obviously, most people try to jump though after that rekka combo). Play solid, dont dive really ever, and after a jab 360, if you walk a step forward before jumping over with splash, it makes it REALLY ambigious on fei because of how he wakes up. Make him come to you, dont get cornered or dive, save meter for when you need to get out of the corner. Punish badly spaced rekkas with 360 (any) and dont use st.rh or fp that much, on whiff and block, fei can rekka them. Use low forward and stand forward to poke.
hey, do you guys prefer the spoiler tabs around our match-up text? or is the quote tabs fine?
i personally don’t like clicking extra to get to the match-info like other forums. just wanted your inputs…
Whichever method looks less cluttered I think is better. It doesnt matter to me personally either way
The spoiler tags are really just to ease having to scroll through 20 billion full matchup summaries to get to the one you want. It’s a space-saving device.
yeah, i know that of the spolier tags. just personally, i don’t prefer it but if you more of you want it then i can add them.
spoiler tags are hot.
juri vs t.hawk has to be hawks most annoying match up
i couldn’t do a thing against juri in last night’s psn srk tournament
it still haunts me today what happened:sad:
