T hawk beats dhalsim… Ya I couldn’t believe that… Ya me either until I tried it… and IT WAS a STRUGGLE…
Looks like his strategy is to blow up limbs with random busters and spires.
I like how KOG wouldn’t use EX dive after EX buster in order to keep close to Sim. Very impressive match!
I don’t care what Japan says. That’s not a good match for Hawk. I don’t think it’s as bad as I previously thought it was, but it’s 6/4 5.5/4.5 in Sim’s favour at least.
all us T hawks need to get together and just FLY to japan and meet this guy
That is 6/4 Sim easy, imo. Hawk has ways to deal with limbs (Thrust Peak, low strong, spire, elbow for air-to-air limbs, etc) and Sim defending against Hawk is difficult yeah, but Hawk still has to work his way to close range through the sea of limbs and Yoga fire. KOG is awesome, but I’ll disagree with Hawk beating Sim.
7-3 Vega? seriously?
you guys know i was just working on going from throw marco to the regular command right?Just because you see something like that doesnt make Vega vs Hawk 7-3 matchup.
really though (not trolling this time)… Vega doesnt have ANY 7-3 matchups. Why you guys think hawk is 7-3?
KOG is delusional if he thinks this match is in Hawk’s favor. And Mike Ross and F Champ are just as for believing him. BTW KOG let him burn that super at the end. This was a case of KOG knowing how he plays, not the real matchup.
People are lame. 7-3 is blanka levels of derp. Sure vega has better mobility and better pokes and that goddamn hitbox but he’s pretty free on knockdown which can’t be said for a blanka. I’d say 6-4 personally.
Or maybe he knows things that we don’t? Everyone on here is so quick to think negatively lol.
Today I fought a competent B+ rank Dhalsim, I utilized a lot of the things KOG did in his match (hitting limbs with Tomahawk or Condor Dive, keeping pressure with normals when I did get up close, ect) and it was a fairly even match. A mite frustrating near the middle when I just couldn’t get in, but it’s nowhere near as impossible as some people make it out to be. Once you knockdown Sim he’s pretty free, the only thing he can do is backdash or teleport. He really doesn’t have a lot of reversal options. Sure getting the knockdown is a pain, but it’s very doable.
I wish we could get data from the PSN/Xbox servers or maybe Capcom secretly collects the data somewhere, but the matchup data win/loss reports. I bet in every game played in the world Sim beats Hawk 9-1 / 8-2. I’ll put $1 on it.
I doubt Sim/Hawk is as bad as 8-2. Come on now.
It’s closer to 6-4 or 7-3. Sim has nothing going for him in that match except Yoga Fire and the limbs. You can take a few risks to get inside since his damage output is so low and Hawk’s health is so high. Once you get inside, it’s hard since Hawk has a counter for every option defensive option Sim has and he can’t make too many bad guesses due to low health and low stun rating. I only put up a 6-4 because Hawk isn’t completely helpless at mid-range/long range.
I don’t know how much does this change the matchup, but Honda can combo into ultra 1 against a standing or crouching T. Hawk, and it’s not hard to do.
Not really. It makes them itchy to get close and that is where I want them.

Honda matchup is pretty even if you ask me, it’s tricky to get in but at the same time a lot of his tools to keep you out that are usually pretty safe aren’t against Hawk. The match really becomes an eb and flow of turtling and trying to safely get in on the opponent between the two as lifeleads switch. If Honda has any sort of lead it’s very slight. I generally don’t have too much of a problem dealing with him, although I do practice with a pretty good Honda.
Got 2nd at a tourney today. Fought a blanka in winners, lost. Ran it back in losers finals and counterpicked with honda lol.
Congratz! Any vids?
Yeah they’ll be up later this week, and an interview with me prior to the tourney.
I lost to a good friend in grand finals so I’m not too salty.
What do you guys think the Sagat matchup is?
