Tokido has shitty fundamentals I think he even admitted this himself. Infiltration has strong fundamentals and a vortex. The vortex was the deciding factor in these matches. Even when Daigo had a solid life lead he would get knocked down one time and lose the match.
Infiltration literally did a 50/50 with the divekick/cross up palm the whole match, he just out footsied Daigo.
I think the match up is more like 5.5/4.5 for Akuma, but at top level play, that 0.5 could make all the difference. Didn’t expect Daigo to lose every match though.
As a ryu player.I hate bison, vega, blanka. They’re all very tricky.
Is there anything Ryu can do to counter Bisons Devil Reverse? I feel I’m good at the match up but whenever Bison starts to spam that move I just NJ.HK in anticipation of when he actually does the head stomp and because i have no idea how to counter it D: any advice would be nice
Devil reverse is the thing Bison do after a head stomp if I am not mistaken. You can simply Srk it or dodge under with c.mk and punish with c.hp xx srk ( strict timing). For the Head stomp I think you can punish just by walking backward; be honest i dont remember how but somebody once show it to me. I remember also being able to srk it from crouch position with a perfect timing recording the move in the dojo.
I have some question about the Cammy match up if somebody is good in this encounter. Its more about what mind set and options I have in defence since I already know stuff about max punish, combo etc.
My problem is mostly when I am getting pressed up. I find it hard to reset the situation with all the cross up, instant canon strike etc.
Concrete situation: Cammy just land a successful combo ending with a spiral arrow. Now lets say i make a quick wake up. Now I think lot of Cammy player go for either a mk canon strike or a cross up lk. I am unsure about my options at that point. I have the feeling i cant srk the cannon strike and unsure if i can auto correct my srk against the cross up option. Again I am not sure if I should block the canon strike standing since if I crouch block it than create an ambiguous situation where Cammy can cross me up. Lets say I block the canon strike standing and then block some kind of block string. Usually a cross up lk, a grab or instant ex canon strike come. I usually get confuse after a while and hit some kind of combo.
If anybody has advices what I should be thinking when I am defending this kind of pressure: my options against instant canon strike or cross up, when should I be tecking when should I allow the throw.
Thx
Umm… Thats when cammy is at her best when she is pressuring you so that situation can be really tricky to deal with. when i play against her and i get knocked down i try to remain patient untill i get some space. so when she goes for the dive kick/cross up on wake up you have two options. Either just block it, or focus Attack and dash away. if you choose to block it then you have to block her whole string until you get the space to get away. you also have to also be careful of teching throws because they usually always go for frame traps but im not a fan of letting them throw you either, and dont be afraid to DP thru some of those block strings.
Ideal situation though would be not getting knocked down from the get go. lol i feel ryu is solid against cammy until she knocks you down. Ryu can out poke cammy imo, and if you have quick reactions you can shoryuken all her jump ins. just zone her out and keep her off you. once you get knocked down i usually just block and then during her block string ill try and backdash or dp out of it. for the most part tho when i lose to a cammy, its because i got knocked down and she went ham with dive kicks and cross ups
A useful trick vs Bison is to watch his meter if he is spamming Devil’s Stomp/Reverse. If he gains meter when he does the move, it’s a stomp. If he doesn’t, it’s a potential reverse or empty float (they use this to trick you into blocking so they can throw you).
everything balrog does ryu or any character for that matter can jab him out of his dash punches so how is this a bad match up for ryu? i think the only thing you have to watch out for when your playing against rogs is hit overhead which he can get grabbed out of it so imo he’s an ass character & ryu wins free
Are there any of Ryu’s normals that beat Cody’s? I been facing a lot of Cody’s lately and it seems like all his normals beat mine. This match has gotta be atleast 6-4 in Cody’s favor.
Saw Infiltration’s dismantling of Latiff can’t Ryu do the same thing with his cr.mk? How come when I watch top Ryu players vs. Latiff they still get hit by burning kick. I don’t think Infiltration got hit by burning kick once and I thought Akuma’s cr.mk was worse than Ryus.
It isn’t. It lasts for a shorter time and has the old, high-priority hitbox. Can’t be used as a wall in footsies and the shorter duration means more precision needed for evading burn kicks. The super high burn kick evasion rate is just Infiltration being godlike, typically Ryu players are better at that than Akumas. But Infiltration is, well, Infiltration. And the best AE player in the world and stuff.
spam cr.mk. dont let cody in. he is good with frame traps.
Any advice vs Oni holy crap I just got molly whopped. **
Now can stand up with most of the characters when using ryu but big problem is with Adon. Just can’t get in with this matchup. Any help with this?
You’re both trying to do the same thing: Control the close-mid range. Adon is better at it than Ryu in this matchup. The primary obstacle of trying to fight Adon is the Jaguar Kick, which pretty much just owns Ryu free if you don’t know how to deal with them. Dealing with them is obviously a matter of spacing, but the main tools I’ve seen used to successfully fight against Jaguar Kick pressure are cr.mk to avoid some jag kicks, cr.mk xx shoryuken to punish, and st.lk. st.lk doesn’t do much damage and is a risk, but it’s a single button press, that puts a hitbox at a good place fast. That hitbox also stays there for a good 6 frames. Properly used, it can stop Jaguar Kick pressure cold. After that is dealt with, you’re dealing with a pretty intuitive footsies battle.
looking for cammy and vega info. What happened to the air blog BTW? He used to have a ton of info now the blog is gone.
I was wondering the same thing. He used to stream sf4 regularly too. I think the raffle ban hit him pretty hard and now he sees no point to it.

Problem with c.mk pressure is that adon’s standing roundhouse beats it clean. Also any inputs against cammy? Fought one a day ago because he was beating everyone in our local arcade.<br>
The cr.mk was recommended not as a pressure tool. I recommended it as a way of lowering the hitbox against incoming jag kicks. Don’t have Adons to play against here really, but should work from what I’ve seen. Basically, dodge the jag kick, cr.mk tags it late, cancel into shoryu for teh damage.<br>
Any help with Sakura? I’m new to FGs and all.
All I’ve been doing well it seems is keeping her off the air by using my roundhouse kick or down hp. Idk how to use my fireballs to my advantage or what range to be in though :\
