if you’re playing Rose and you are not having any real problems with pressure, than you must be winning a lot of tournaments. Cause she excels at all other ranges.
Pressure is Rose’s big weakness, for sure. She really excels when it comes to footsies and spacing, but when the opponent is right in her face, she is in trouble (when she doesn’t have U2). In AE, it doesn’t matter, because she doesn’t have that option anymore. Unless you could do a superb job of keeping your opponent out, you’re going to find yourself in that pressure situation at least once per game. I find that dive kick characters are truly a nightmare for Rose for this very reason, more so Rufus than Cammy.
Yeah, Rose is pretty good on medium or long distances even vs proyectile characters(except Seth in my opinion) because she has a pretty good pokes arsenal, an anti-proyectile set, and nice AA…with that it can keep the fight on footsies and such, which probably is always on her advantage…well almost always anyway xD…but if the opponent catches a mistake or makes a nice bet and gets in…trouble awakes…cause the opponent in the face is hell for Rose…U2 worked for a nice “Stop!” move…now without its defensive mega uses…its not that it will be imposible for her nor anything like that(other chars have a lot of nerfs actually xD)…its just that she will need to stay cool on pressure without that tool…just that xD…still U1 for punishing mistakes works…and U2 to pressure or combo too…so she is still solid, to me it will be a hated nerf cause I used it a lot in that way…but still I just get used to it and no giant problems…it will help me not depend on one of my bad habits which is waking with U2
Still as sksksksksk222 says, Rufus matchup will be a lot lot lot more tough…and zoning cammy will need to be made even better xD but we love Rose so we will make everyone fear her even if she can´t block xD…well that would be almost imposible xD haha
Shouldn’t the Rose v cammy match in Ae be a little easier for rose because her Dive kicks are restricted?
I’ve heard several people (including Art) say they prefer U1 in the Rufus fight. In the game we have now.
I tried this matchup using both ultras, and I’m sticking with U2 for Rufus. It’s just alot more useful dealing with divekicks and pressure, and it’s alot less risky against someone who can change his jump height whenever and just bait it out.
This matchup in AE is gonna piss me off, but hopefully by then I’ll be playing TTT2 anyways lol.
I use U2 too. I see what the merits of U1 are, sort of…but damn I hate that match either way. Rufus SF4s harder than most characters, and my anti-SF4 tactics aren’t always in top form.
i dont have sick reactions to use u1 on rufus, ill just stick with U2
I like both, honestly.
U2 gets me out of the obvious pressure situation, but it’s quick to get back in.
But U1 provides an equal scare factor against Rufus. If you have U1, Rufus has a weak wake-up against Rose.
OS U1 beats every wake up Rufus can possible do.
Even EX Messiah Kick.
I like counterpicking Rufus with Seth :woot:
Played Air’s Ryu today. I tried for a counter hit set up with the usual cr.lk, c. mk and I got counter hit with an OS crouch tech + cr.mp. Is that supposed to work or did I somehow fuck up?
Rose is even more ass in close range situations now. Once you get untechable-knockdowned you’re basically going to get taken for a ride. Air only needed to get in once and I’m pretty much pushed to the corner and beaten up. No U2 really hurts her defense…
Some people obviously didn’t play in her Vanilla. :woot:
I didn’t play Vanilla. Period.
Btw what do you guys do when Guile throws a slow boom and follows it?
If he’s dashing right behind it continuously, MP Reflect works well.
He’s jumping at an angle where HP reflect won’t catch him.
Also so you know if Ryu’s Crouchtech+cr.mp beats our cr.lk, c.mk setup?
It strictly depends when he’s jumping relative to his Sonic Boom. In that case, I would say ST or EX ST (if he’s jumping such that the Sonic Boom beats out your attempted regular ST). If he’s jumping ahead a bit too early, you could do c.HP just in time.
Seeing Ryu’s cr.mp has the exact same amount of start-up and active frames as Rose’s c.lk, I’d imagine that it would beat that set-up, if he presses the input first.
Yup U2 vs Rufus stays for me xD
Sonic wall sucks xD but an smart reflect kicks Guile ass xD or even a neutral jump with attack…or a ST…or c.HP…it all depends on Guile´s tactic…just be smart and keep cool…after all that match circles around patience and smart quick decisions xD
Dropping rose for makoto.
So I played Rose this weekend in AE and she’s still good. Free on wakeup, but good. Her meter gain loss is noticeable but not bad, I just wasn’t getting 3-full bars a round now lol. I don’t think I’ll play her as much, but I’ll still keep her in my arsenal of characters.
