SSF4 AE Cammy Changes and Discussion

Cammy players need to relearn their char, so it will take a little while until we see her true potential (if she has any…) In all the videos we see them trying to do cs a couple of times without any success.

that ibuki was nasty D:, the second round was close thoug, i think it was the cammy player fault for getting desperate to win the round and no baiting the dp.

just curious, how easy is it to make changes to the arcade game (if it’s possible at all). does capcom have the ability to make updates and changes to the shipped units, or would they need to ship new ones?

it’s my understanding that they would need to ship new units to change the arcade game at all…

if only we could have vids of Odin SIN…He, for sure have found some tricks to be in the BP top ten…

maybe he’s just buying out P1 and P2 and boosting his BP.

With how busy AE cabs are in Japan, I don’t think that’s possible. Also I’m pretty sure that the arcade cabs are linked together by network cable and have random challengers.

Btw, anyone seen any new vids posted yet? Other than the two Yun vids, the Zangief vid, and the Ibuki vid.

It’s my understanding that they can update it whenever they want, theoretically. It would, however, cost them a shitton of money to deploy the techs to every arcade in the world because updating probably counts as tech support.

So if they do an update, it has to be flawless, and final.

lol corner stomps do not work on cammy anymore

I just played a yang a 2 out of the 5 or so cl mp far hp arrow hit only once… I’ll try and figure it out

Some more of my findings…

The fastest normal jump Cannon Strike I’ve seen so far has had a startup of 26 frames (not counting jump startup) to hit a grounded, standing opponent. Seen at 0:45 in the Iyo Ibuki vs Furiketsu Cammy match. 12 aerial frames during the jump, 12 frames for the strike startup, then 2 frames to reach the opponent. This 12 aerial frames is exactly 1/3 the length of Cammy’s total jump animation.

This is a good amount faster than a basic jump in. If the enemy isn’t sitting there buffering DP x N, it seems like jump CS will still be a decent way to get in… if used sparingly. And if you play online, due to the extra lag this will probably be very hard for the opponent to punish on reaction, without DP buffering all day.

i really hope we don’t need to rely on online tactics ;_;

I’ve been thinking about this. We are asking if Close Strong combos after a regular Dive Kick. My question is… are we asking the wrong question? Let’s look at two things.

  1. In one of those videos, I saw Cammy do Crouch Strong up close into Close Strong for a two-hit Combo.

  2. Crouch Strong is now 4 frames of startup, SAME as Close Strong.

Maybe… MAYBE the really Combo to do after a Dive Kick now is Crouch Strong, Close Strong, Far Fierce XX Drill. If that’s the case, holy smokes that’s one hell of a BnB. We won’t be worrying about building meter anymore. I’ve gotta try that if I get to play tomorrow. I may actually play on Wednesday and not Tuesday now, I’m not sure yet. LOL!


Also, one other question. Sonny, have you noticed any difference with the blocked DP? They said it was getting nerfed, but in the videos, it didn’t look… all THAT different. Do the Hooligan Tech Traps still work and such? I’ll try to test that out as well when I get the chance.

Also, which arcade are you playing at? Super Arcade or FFA? If it’s Super Arcade, how crowded is it? I’d like to go somewhere where I can experiment more. If we get some games together, maybe we can play Cammy / Cammy and not fight, but just practicing Combos and doing tests?

I was at super and no I didn’t notice s dam thing about the dp and yes the hooligan traps worked. I did than all. Haha

it wasn’t packed. I just played with keno mike and a friend of mine for like 3 hours with barely any other foot traffic…

that’s how I got my testing, also wish w recorded more cause I got some good wins in with some combo footage potential :frowning:

With all the new combos I couldnt always decide what to do… I’d get hit confirms off jab and go into… Cr strong or cr fierce… Then other times I’d get hit confirms off cl mp and go cr mk or far hp or go off cl hp into cr mk. So many choices and the fact that cannon spike was possible I did that a lot too (shading gief)
