SSF4 AE Cammy Changes and Discussion

this thread has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows… but we’re about to fall of the tracks now… I really don’t see what was so overpowered about mid range canon strikes… removing low was bad enough (thought I was thinking the buffs we were getting might have overcompensated for it…) but mid is going too far… ridiculous that Makoto, Adon and Juri can do tk air kick movies lower than we can… than you add Yang and Yun and of course Rufus can do it at anytime ffs and when combined with them making hk spiral useless outside of a canceling into it from say cl st hp.

The blog did mention lk and mk getting changed too… it’s just a dmg reduction isn’t it? Bet their still not anywhere near safe at all.

Not sure why you quoted that msg :stuck_out_tongue: but I was wondering the same thing. Either boycotted or Cammy really became a useless character that is not worth the $$$ to pick her.

Yeah she was looking at Ryu, but she was still talking to Viper, I think. Because she says “but I know what you want,” meaning Ryu’s fighting data.

You can only do dive kicks at the peak (on the way up and down) and there is enough hit stun to hit cl strong

New combos I was able to hit… St/cr jab to cr strong/forward and cr fierce and u was able to hit 3 cr jabs into dp on a crouching yun…

Another thing. Rh arrow almost never hit twice so I just used forward…

damn there goes our 50/50 oki.

mk arrow leaves us at an awful position where you cant do anything after knockdown :shake:

And every time I combo’d into arrow in the corner I switched sides with them leaving me in the corner…

jeezus… this is no good… Cammy is infact looking like her CvS2 counterpart… awesome normals with heavy specials… but that’s not gonna fly in SF4, SF4’s system gave her a lock and load type of style that meant once she got in she got her damage… she was so good in CvS2 cuz it centered around normals so much and K and C grooves didn’t hurt

but like i said this isn’t CvS2… we kinda needed the TKCS but i’m willing to give em the botd until i get my hands on arcade cammy myself… i’m hoping her buffed normals can do the trick, i’m looking for something like Ryu’s double c.strong links… and i’m willing to work with the new CS… as long as if can still apply pressure somewhat and work in combos i’ll be able to make do

we had the hooligan cannon strike in CvS2… we dont got it now… but if cammy truly got screwed, i guess i can work with Yang since i play him in 3S still… i don’t really wanna but cammy can be an effective alt

May be shorter combos like Cr jab>Cl.Hp>MK Arrow might leave you at a better spot instead of trying to do the standard Cr.HP>Cr.Mk,(then substitute HK for)MK,SA combo. Lol I blame the people that said Cammy was getting boring now she’s completely different happy now. Time to do some testing must prepare for AE or just use Yang he does look fun.

They really should have balanced the game on making people happy with the characters they play, rather than making them happy with the characters they play against. They probably had orders on high to remove anything people whinge about. But you can’t do that without removing everything good in the game. They seem to think balancing and indiscriminate nerfing are synonymous.

she was very much playable for me… I had like a 20 win steak at one point… Against some decent people :slight_smile:

I don’t even care about the CS stuff… the HK SA nerf is what is totally unnecessary. Not so much for the damage, but you lose FADC/Super cancel on it now…

Oh yeah have you tried cancelling stuff from far HP? I wonder if hk SA works better with that, since it moves her forward when you cancel it looks like.

this is normal. It’s a MK Arrow attribute (which is great for mixup since no one expects it).

but really, if HK arrow doesn’t hit 2 combos anymore in normal combos… pressure is dead. no more ambiguous strikes on wake up.

I think you guys are forgetting that we can still do EX TKCS.

im not worried for canceling into super since you can cancel directly from any c.mk combo into super

like close mp, c.hp, c.mk, super … etc. etc

but the FADC “Safety net” is gone. mix up is also gone, like FADC block/throw/late tech/TKCS.

hk sa is useless??

does it hit twice on combos such as:

c.lp, c.lp, far hp, hk sa
c.lk, c.lp, c.lk, hk sa (bnb :sad:)
or at least c.lp, c.lk, hk sa
close mp, crouch mp, hk sa
crouch hp, crouch mk, hk sa

what about:

c.mk, hk sa (close range)
close mp, hk sa
close hp, hk sa

or

c.lp, close hp, hk sa
c.lp, close mp, hk sa

???

maybe capcom wants to avoid loops and long combos in general thats why they nerfed hk sa :mad:. and i think thats why they changed cammy in general. she’s strong in her current state compared to AE overall NERFED cast.
