Thawk had no escape from j.mp ambiguous (if it crossup) after backthrow :wasted:
360 will own cammy :wasted:
i tried to do the same setups using EX strike. jumping attack whiffs. some twit on SRK said
“cant you just walk like everyone else”
me thinking:
“no you freaking twit, MK TKCS takes you an inch forward to that perfect spot/place in time to jump from”. EX or even HK TKCS wont give the same result.
This. To be honest here, I think some of you who are complaining about it are the same ones who were whining when down back characters scrapped them(maybe unfair but it really seems that way).
I mean if her combos got easier, that means that she better normals, which I’d rather have over TKCS all day.
Also, just because you can’t use a TKCS to set up the ambiguous stuff off of back throw doesn’t mean it isn’t still there. Stop being lazy and play with taking steps forward.
if that last part is directed at me, then lol. Im more then fine with tkcs being gone if we can determine a spacing substitute for setting up the ambiguous j.fp/j.mp. Im also fine with tkcs gone as long as we can still jump and do a CS from a low height.
On a knock-down I sometimes use delayed TKCS to “hop over” the opponent in a short number of frames to keep them guessing. I’ll miss that if it’s taken away.
It’ll be fun if by the end of the day, they do indeed take out TKCS and people still can’t cope with the pressure of regular fast dive kicks. And as seemingly little proof there is so far about the improved normals thing, it’d be great if it led to new combos like c.fp, c.fp, s.fp, hk SA or something ridiculous as her new BNB.
Anyways, the points is, I wouldn’t be stressing too much about right now. Though, it’s good to see many have reached this point and things have calmed down (somewhat). I’m still fairly new to the SF franchise but when I heard the changes being made to Super, I thought Guile was still going to be crap, Rufus would be borked, and Cammy/Bison would remain essentially the same. Things don’t work out as it seems - at least for me.
Cammy doesn’t really need TKCS (as an offensive or defensive tool) outside of a couple of match ups. She’s still powerful without them. If you can perform the move close to the ground simply by jumping forward and inputting the motion, then that’s all that matters. I’m just hoping it doesn’t have ridiculous height restrictions (i.e. can only be used at the peak of her jump, etc.). Then we’ll have a problem.
Cammy doesn’t need TKCS? I have to disagree. TKCS is a must! It’s what makes Cammy, Cammy.
Mostly ALL the top Cammy players use TKCS in their game from Sanford Kelly, Sako, James Chen, Steinmania, Allen, and Ca Technique. Even the top players who play Cammy uses TKCS.
If you seriously don’t think TKCS is not really important in her game then you still have alot to learn about using Cammy.
The problem with fast-but-not-tk cstrike is that it can’t combo, is unsafe on block, and very, very vulnerable to FA. It’s basically useless outside of a crossup mixup/wakeup option.
Cammy has no throw game without this, having the shortest grab in the game and no way to hit confirm from close range (not point blank). Plus she’ll be fucking boring to play. She’ll get destroyed by every charge character so hard, it’s gonna be embarassing.
They’d need to change something huge to make her viable then, like giving her an overhead and making arrows safer, but that’d still be boring as hell.
. . . your an idiot. sako uses tkcs a lot as an offensive tool, even in matches where he might not use it that second, you better believe that the fact that he CAN do a TKCS any moment certainly affects the actions that other players take against cammy. but, your right tkcs isn’t that important! also i would like to see you do an IAD (instant air dive) to beat a cr.lk, because personally i doubt how often you could punish the os tech attempt without at least the delayed tkcs much less normal tkcs.
If TKCS is gone, then the only thing I’m gonna use dive kicks for is baiting I guess.
Oh hey, what if Capcom gave Cammy some epic target combos and stuff? And what if said target combos were cancellable into Ultra? I’m fishing here, but if that happened I’d be really happy.
Doing apex dive kicks like in Third Strike would be cool. I’ll still get used to it, but what punish combo do I use now? Any suggestions?
Tell you what. Watch Sako replays where input display is on. You’ll be surprised how well he punishes OS techs with IA dive kicks. True, some people use delayed TKCS over IA dive kicks to punish OS techs, but the fact remains that TKCS is not the only way to punish OS techs (she also has strong CH set ups from many ranges as well). Like I said, outside some match ups (like Abel), you really don’t need TKCS as an offensive tool.
I’m not an advocate for removing TKCS (and I definitely don’t want it removed), but I do feel that it isn’t going to hurt Cammys offensive game as much as people are making it seem like.
And Kouryuu, my post wasn’t intended directly to you so don’t take it seriously. Sorry if it did.
It was meant for anyone who actually think TKCS it’s not too important in her game. And because of the TKCS, its what made Cammy have one of the BEST mix-ups characters in the game.
IAD’s only really work to punish option selects where a 3rd button is added, those kinds of anti-dive option selects also open up cammy’s CH setups because of how easy those normals are to counterhit. my entire point is this: why would someone use anything but a normal option select if we can no longer tkcs? will there be a reason for them to potentially open themselves up to those CH hit setups or instant air dives?
and personally i have not seen a sako match where he DIDN’T use tkcs…
